Dangerous road due to state of safety markings and markers, 15th January

Mon, 15 Jan 2024 09:43:26 +0000
50.427991 -4.255343

The stretch of A388 road between Tamar Valley Centre and the St Mellion Golf Course roundabout is dangerous to drive by day, but specifically by night. This is the second time I have reported this issue over the last three years. A winding section before the Nursary, which has a sheer drop off to one side, and a sheer wall on the other, has almost none existent central (worn out) or verge ( overgrown and worn) markings and is frequented by heaving transport vehicles along with the normal vehicles. The reflexive bollards to mark sharp corners are bent over from the last impact and t times the only makers for the edges and dimensions of the road at night. It is a death trap waiting to close. I would appreciate my council's attention to this matter at your soonest convenience. Thank you

Wed, 18 Jan 2023 08:27:27 +0000
50.436072 -4.255509

The landlord that we rent part of his land has put in for change of use so we can store building materials as well as agricultural. Planning PA22/10400 . The local Parish Council have objected because of the problems with previous tenant which was understandable , we moved to site 1/10/2022. The Parish Council have put in a false statement at about our business saying we have been fined for illegal tipping and had a massive fine we have asked them to retract statement with a public apology. We are taking legal advice but concerned it will hinder our landlords application.

Grass too long, 23rd June

Wed, 23 Jun 2021 14:10:15 +0100
50.436439 -4.256462

On the Hatt round about and approaching roads the grass is just too long. It is difficult to see around the entrances/exits when you are joining the main road. Can it be trimmed back to allow vehicles, who pay road tax to contribute to the upkeep of the roads, to use this junction safely.

Unable to push a pram through these paths due to overgrown edges. Also very difficult to push a pram through the long grass on one side up near the roundabout. There are also stinging nettles causing many children to be stung on the trip to and from the school bus collection point and/or walk in a road to avoid the stinging nettles.

Cornwall Council report ref: W2047008, 26th August

Wed, 26 Aug 2020 08:30:30 +0100
50.444592 -4.221861

Update on the W2047008 report: I have dug out and cleared the drain. The photos show: The blocked drain and pipe A mirror showing a cleared pipe and drain The overgrown 'gulley' into which this pipe discharges. On 25th Aug. the landowner and I walked his field next to this gulley and we agreed that in order for the drain to function, two things must happen: 1. His side of the hedge must be cut as soon as permitted (i.e. 1st Sept.) to gain proper access to the gulley. 2. The gulley should be cleared. The landowner is Neil Cradick: his contact number is 01752 843257.

Road drain requiring bank removal, 23rd August

Sun, 23 Aug 2020 14:17:24 +0100
50.444592 -4.221861

This drain is one of an important pair, situated either side of our house- The Old School Landulph PL12 6QQ. The other (containing BT's superfast cable in its pipe) has been dealt with well, following a combined effort between ourselves and Highways. In a recent downpour which did actually just flood the road- that drain coped very well and the flooding subsided quickly. Both drains serve large pipes and drainage systems put in many years ago by a local farmer and paid for by Highways. The one in the photo ('What 3 words position'- promises. deprives. trouser.) is blocked with leaves, etc. I will unblock it, as I think it's my responsibility to keep it clear, if I can. Following the advice of one of your operatives, I'm requesting that Highways removes part of the bank adjacent to this drain, where necessary. At present, soil is diverting water away from this drain and preventing its primary function: i.e. Our 1st line of defence against flooding. Were this to be achieved- that would be brilliant. I'm aware that funds must be limited, at the moment. If you're unable to help at the right now, I might be able to persuade one of three local farmers to carry out the task, should you agree it. Road effectively breaking up , in need of major repair works, 2nd November

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 09:08:30 +0000
50.42523 -4.239812

This road has suffered from innumerable potholes over the last decade or so which have been expensively individually filled in only to have a new pothole appearing adjacent to them almost immediately!. Frankly the whole road now needs resurfacing from end to end. The necessary works have in fact been marked up with yellow paint for some weeks now but sadly the paint is fast vanishing with age and no works have been commenced as if it has been forgotten about. This road has been reported to be in need of repair several times before so the Council must be aware of the situation.
