Bailey Walls, Skeldyke Road. Kirton. PE20 1LR, 4th March
Every time it rains the road outside my house floods living more than 50% of the road surface covered in standing water. This is caused by a 10ft x 1ft pothole all along the collapsed verge outside my house. The water from the flooding is spashed all over the front of my house by passing traffic and is causing damp patches on the inside of my house because of water ingress. Highways are legally required to fix this , it is a hazard for passing motorists and the water ingress from the standing water is causing damp and mould inside my house, which is a health hazard.

Bailey Walls, Skeldyke Road. Kirton, 9th February
This is the FOURTH time that I have reported the same problem. Flood water covers over 50% of the road surface outside my house , every time it rains. The road is hardly wider than a single track road here and passing vehicles have no option but to drive straight through this water - the water then covers the front wall of my house and is causing damage by ingressing through the brickwork and into the inside of my house. The flooding is due to the inadequate "repair" carried out by the highways department to the 15 foot long pothole and collapsed verge outside of my house. I have been in contact with my solicitor who said that the highways department are clearly liable for the damage to my house and must both fix the cause of this problem satisfactorily and pay for remedial works to my house.

Bailey Walls, Skeldyke Road. Kirton, 2nd January
My property is being damaged by water ingress on the front wall of the house due to the highways departments refusal to adequately remedy the standing water on the road outside my house due to the erosion of the verge and road surface.
Type 1 spread with a rake is not an adequate or safe repair.
This needs fixing properly and your repeated failure to do so makes you legally liable for the damage to my property.

Bailey Walls, Skeldyke Road. Kirton, 19th December
Good morning, Further to yesterday's visit by your repair team and the closing of that complaint as "fixed" I am writing to inform you that the original problem is now actually WORSE than before. Your repair team (after sittng in the lorry for 40 minutes before they did anything) simply tipped the type 1 into the eroded area of the road and spread it with a rake!?! This needs fixing properly - spread with a gradient and compacted - not just tipped in the hole!! As you can see from the attached photos, the pooling of the water is no better at all. I have again forwarded these photos to my solicitor and we will now be taking further action against you. Regards
