Tree, 20th June
Tree planted 33 years ago to help absorb excess surface water due to former neighbour mole draining his garden and then adding top soil thereby raising level of garden in comparison to adjoining properties. Concern as new neighbours do not appreciate importance of tree, it’s function due to historical factors and how it stops our garden from being waterlogged when there is excessive rainfall.

Badly overgrown hedgerows at both ends of Mill Lane, 19th June
My husband and I have been reporting these overgrown hedges for years, including to the local parish council, but nothing is done about them. They are bad at both ends of the lane for about 100-150 yards but they are particularly bad near Fern House. Thick brambles are growing into the lane and could take the eye out of a cyclist and, as a minimum, they scratch your car as you drive past. Someone should be made accountable for this and be made to cut them back.
