FIXMYSTREET IN PE13 4BJ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of PE13 4BJ:
A47, 12th March
Grade D litter/debris on verge, you haven't litter picked the verges for many years if ever. You are a disgrace. Under the environmental act issued by DEFRA local authorities have a responsibility to keep verges clear of litter. You are breaking the law. All this litter will make its way into the nearby river. You do not care. National Highways have closed this road multiple times and you could have worked with them and arranged for your street cleaning team to litter pick at the same time. This would have saved money and made sure you at least tried to meet your environmental duties. A litter Abatement order followed by fines and court appearance is the next steps in this instance.

Massive pothole, 10th March
Large dip/pothole from failed patch work. Again putting up a sign instead of fixing the defect is an all too common occurrence. You’re a disgrace.

Litter, 4th March
The A47 South Bank hasn't been litter picked for many many years. The verges are full of litter and debris that will eventually pollute the nearby river.
National Highways are closing this road foe two nights in April. This is yet another opportunity for you to work with them and arrange for your street cleaning team to finally give this road a much needed litter pick. I can already guarantee this won't happen.
You as a council are an absolute disgrace. You should be taken to court and issued with a litter Abatement order for your clear disregard of your environmental duties.

Litter, 25th February
Grade D litter everywhere, all along the verges. You're a disgrace. This road was closed multiple times last year, you could have litter picked it. You don't care. All this litter will break down into micro plastic and pollute the river. Hang your head in shame.

A47, 20th February
Guyhirn to Wisbech. Loads of litter/debris littered along verges. This ultimately will end of polluted the nearby river and destroying wildlife.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know the exact date you last litter picked this road? I would guess it has been a number of years if ever. You have a duty under the environmental protection act to keep verges clear of litter. As indicated by the department for environmental, food & rural affairs, National Highways are responsible for the maintenance of the road and local authorities are responsible for litter clearance. This road was closed a number of times last year by National Highways. You should have used this as an opportunity to send your street cleaning team out and litter pick the verges whilst it was closed. This would have enabled a safe and cost effective strategy so that you are adhering to your environmental responsibilities. You are currently massively failing in your duties. This is total neglect and you are ultimately breaking the law. The next steps will be court action and a litter Abatement order. I would like answers immediately and a strategy put in place moving forward so that this busy main road can be litter picked on a regular basis.

Litter everywhere, 12th February
This stretch of A47 from Thorney Toll to Wisbech is absolutely disgusting, with the verges covered in litter and debris. This section hasn't been litter picked for many years. It is depressing to see the litter everywhere, especially as many of it likely makes its way into the nearby river.
National Highways have had closures along this road multiple times last year. Why do you never use this closures as an opportunity to work collaboratively with National Highways and arrange for the area to be litter picked simultaneously?
Why do you continue to ignore you environmental duties?
You are a disgrace.

Dip in road, 11th February
Why do you always place a uneven road surface sign instead if actually fixing road defects? Old patch work has collapsed, leaving a dangerous dip that will likely be fatal to a motorbike user.

Pe13 4aa guyhirn footpath outside shell garage, 13th January
Pothole in footpaths x2 this is a fast road and very dangerous if someone trips onto the road. The disabled warning bumps (sorry not sure what these are called) has completely disappeared on one side. This is situated where access to garage is. Lorries and heavy vehicles are in and out constantly so the paths are deteriorating more each day. This is a public footpath and very dangerous especially at night .

Atrocious pavement (not fit for purpose), 4th January
The public footpath / pavement on the A47 from the Gull Road junction (play2day, PE13 4AA), Guyhirn to 2 Fen Road, PE13 4AB is a major safety issue. I stumbled along this footpath yesterday whilst walking to my friends. The footpath is extremely uneven from subsidence, overgrown with vegetation, making it barely wide enough for an adult to walk along, let alone a adult with a child or a pram / pushchair. It appears neglected, like its a forgotten footpath, which considering this footpath goes to 8 properties is appalling, especially as this footpath is the only route to the local shop based at the petrol station. It really is unsafe and an accident waiting to happen, when someone unsuspectingly falls onto the A47 infront of an vehicle doing 60mph. This footpath is totally unfit for purpose.

Very uneven and damaged surface, 21st November
The stretch of road from the River Nene bridge to the end of the 40 limit is in a disgraceful state and urgently needs completely resurfacing. I’ve seen better roads in the third world! The road surface from there to Thorney isn’t much better!

What are you doing?, 20th November
How long are you going to leave temp lights along a major road without a worker in sight. It has been like this for days now, driven past everyday multiple times after heavy congestion and there is no one there?! Isn't one of your jobs to keep traffic moving? Can you get these works finished and the lights gone ASAP!
