On this corner coming, there are 2 blocked gullys which flood across the road when there has been rain. Difficult to see this water when travelling from Nettlebed and to avoid it, you have to use the other side of the road which is dangerous with oncoming traffic.

Car parked dangerously, 19th February

51.608678 -0.978546

A mini has started being parked outside this house on the road where there is no lighting. People rarely adhere to the speed limit at this point. The property has a drive and land which could be used to park. Sometimes a cone is placed at the rear of the car to help highlight what is a known risk. Suggest police inspect and advise owner.

Incredibly dangerous flooding at the bottom of a hill, 9th February

Fri, 09 Feb 2024 13:44:02 +0000
51.61172 -0.991121

The dip in the hill between Howe Hill and Cookley Green is flooded yet again, and it is causing the edge of the road to break up, meaning there are now significant potholes, the debris from which is now in the road and is proving to be a skid risk to drivers. The water is so deep a car was trapped in it last night (8th February 2024) and their engine was flooded. From my own experience, I've seen and experienced the tidal waves that are caused by drivers going through the water. The side of the road approaching Howe Hill is too deep to safely drive a vehicle through, meaning vehicles are moving into the oncoming lane in an attempt to pass through the flood water. This is dangerous on a national speed limit road, where visibility is limited for drivers approaching the flooding, as the stranded and overtaking vehicles are in the dip of a hill/valley. I truly believe a collision will happen before long, as the Council have made no attempt to rectify the problem in the months it has been flooding, and furthermore, have failed to put up signs to warn approaching vehicles that there is flooding in that area. The flooding is so severe that it is causing rip tides and vehicles to lose control because there are no warning signs to advise drivers to slow down significantly on the approach; if there are oncoming vehicles the only safe option is to stop your vehicle until you can pass without oncoming traffic, which doesn't feel particularly safe on a national speed limit road...

Loose flints and soil in road, 6th February

Work was done to install fibre along Patemore Lane recently (not for local use). The contractors dug through the verges and this has caused damage resulting in debris falling into the road. We don't know the name of the contractors. Please could you rectify, as it is causing vehicles to swerve to avoid the debris.

Drain never cleared properly resulting in flooding across road in heavy rains., 6th January

Sat, 06 Jan 2024 17:24:45 +0000
51.61172 -0.991121

This dip in the road always floods (right across road, often resulting in cars having to be abandoned) and Highways never clears the main drain out properly, year after year. Requires proper clearing of silt from drain,as excess water (that accumulates very quickly in this major dip of road) always forms a lake quickly resulting in cars breaking down as they try to go through water.
