FixMyStreet ref: 5623444 & Council ref: ENQ24993896, 11th April
22/2/24 - Once again I encountered roadworks that had not been advertised. Anytime you do works on the A4074 it causes major delays, so why not warn drivers that they are going to be happening so that they have the option of avoiding them? They appeared on Tuesday 22nd February at approximately 1pm and were not emergency works so there is not excuse. 11/4/24 - Council response - We are reviewing old information on Fix My Street and we have decided to close your report. Well, of course it is old information if you do not respond for SEVEN weeks! And you still haven't given me a reason why these roadworks were not advertised in advance. I contacted you regarding separate matter last year and you ask me to report these incidences, but then you do nothing about it. Why?

Why, Oh Why, 13th March
Once again we have roadworks taking place without any prior warning! Traffic backed up for half a mile or more and totally unnecessary. If the tree surgeons need to get a licence to erect temporary traffic lights in order to carry out these works there is no excuse for them not to notify road users. They should be fined.

Booked drain and broken manhole cover, 26th February
This problem has been here for at least three years ,water is flowing out of the broken manhole cover down the road and creating flooding on the bend at potlands corner in toot Baldon ,causing considerable danger to all road users especially when freezing . The blocked road side drain is caused by tree roots from a weeping willow tree in the garden of the house on the corner. This is also effecting the drainage from my land adjacent to the verge where the blockage and the unsafe broken manhole is situated.have reported to the highways and parish council on many occasions but no one wants to grasp the nettle on this one. The broken manhole cover is a danger to horses and riders and also walkers and children who walk and ride on the verge to be clear from vehicles . Has someone or a horse got to break a leg before highways act on this one.
