Urgent: Unacceptable Deterioration of A40 London Road - Milton Common - STILL NO ACTION!, 22nd March
This is a follow-up to my previous reports submitted on February 20, 2024, and March 15, 2024, which apparently fell on deaf ears.
It is utterly unacceptable that despite acknowledging the issues in your February 23rd response, the road's condition has deteriorated significantly. The existing potholes have not only remained unrepaired but have worsened, and new ones have emerged, creating a nightmarish landscape for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
These potholes are not merely inconveniences; they are serious safety hazards. Their increasing size and depth put everyone on the road at risk of accidents and vehicle damage. The previous repair attempts, if one can even call them that, were a complete sham. The fillings disintegrated rapidly, leaving behind an uneven, hazardous surface that magnifies the problem.
While the cost of living crisis puts a strain on everyone, it is unconscionable that the council continues to raise council tax while failing to deliver on basic services like road maintenance. This is hard-earned taxpayer money being wasted, with no regard for the safety and well-being of residents.
A permanent solution is required to address the root cause of this issue, not just another shoddy patch-up job. The council has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its residents, and the current state of the A40 London Road is a blatant dereliction of duty.
The A40 London Road in Milton Common requires urgent repairs. I urge you to prioritize this project and allocate the necessary resources to ensure a sustainable solution is implemented!

Overgrown horthorn hedge now a tree, 20th March
A hawthorn hedge has overgrown and is now out of control/poorly managed. It is also allowing rodents to enter our property due to the size of its branches.
The tree/hedge needs to either be feld and we can replant or be heavily pruned back.
Your team said you would do this months ago but nothing has happened.
This is now urgent as it is also starting to scrape on power lines.

Urgent Follow-Up: A40 London Road - Milton Common - Deteriorating Road Conditions, 15th March
I am writing to follow up on my previous report submitted on February 20, 2024, regarding the critical condition of the A40 London Road in Milton Common.
Unfortunately, despite your February 23rd response acknowledging the reported issues, the situation on the road has not improved. The existing potholes remain unrepaired, and new ones have appeared, further increasing the safety hazards for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
These potholes are not only numerous but also vary significantly in size and depth. This creates a dangerous driving experience, raising the risk of accidents and potential vehicle damage.
The previous attempts at repairs have been demonstrably inadequate. The fillings deteriorate quickly, leaving behind uneven surfaces that worsen the problem. This highlights the need for a long-term solution addressing the root cause of the issue.
The ongoing poor road condition not only creates safety concerns but also:
Causes unnecessary wear and tear on vehicles, leading to additional costs for residents. Detracts from the overall appearance of the area, creating a negative impression for visitors.
I urge the council to prioritize the repair of the A40 London Road in Milton Common.

Underground spring releasing water into road, 21st February
An underground spring is pushing water along with mud, grit, stones and lots of Water onto a blind bend in the Village.
This is creating a skid risk on a blind corner as there's insufficient drainage to cope with the excess water.
This road is the only way to walk to the bus stop in Great Milton, so is used widely by vulnerable and young children and is a potential fatality waiting to happen

Urgent Repair Needed, 20th February
I am writing to express my growing concern about the deteriorating condition of the A40 London Road in Milton Common. As a resident who has relied on this road for commuting and other purposes for the past three years, I am deeply troubled by the persistent presence of numerous potholes and the poor quality of previous repairs.
The current state of the road poses a significant risk to the safety of drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. The potholes are not only numerous but also vary considerably in size and depth, creating a hazardous driving experience. The previous attempts to repair these potholes have been demonstrably inadequate, with the fillings quickly deteriorating and leaving behind uneven surfaces that further exacerbate the problem.
This ongoing issue not only creates safety hazards but also causes unnecessary wear and tear on vehicles, leading to additional costs for residents. Furthermore, the poor condition of the road detracts from the overall appearance of the area and creates a negative impression for visitors.
I urge the council to take immediate and decisive action to address this critical matter.
