Broken gutter, 6th May

Mon, 06 May 2024 17:15:13 +0100
51.756122 -1.208191

All gutters were recently cleared thank you. There are two gutters broken front and back of the block (43 and 44) that are leaking quite badly and a large puddle of water is accumulating underneath. Which could lead to damp in the building.

Your street cleaner avoids Beech Rd, only cleaning surrounding roads. Evidence is blocked drains and weeds growing in the gutters. Any explanation will be grateful.

Poisone Rat in Playground, 6th May

Mon, 06 May 2024 13:01:02 +0100
51.746404 -1.231745

A dead adult rat was lying right next to the swings in Manzil Playground today. It had bled from gums and ears, so that it appeared to have been poisoned but without the statutory use of a cage to ensure proper disposal. There were small children all around it. The rat problem in this part of Oxford is primarily due to unsorted and bulging rubbish bins. However, in Manzil Gardens, the problem is exacerbated by the unlawful dumping every day of large piles of bread 'to fed the birds'. Neither the Police nor the Council seem to be 'around' in this area. Hence, the stupid and dangerous use by someone of unconfined poison. I bagged the animal and removed it, hopefully before a child could come into contact with either rat-borne disease or poison.

Whole section of road which has been left unsurfaced since Thames Water works in February., 3rd May

Fri, 03 May 2024 18:55:19 +0100
51.763157 -1.228214

A whole section of road has been left unsurfaced since the Thames Water works several months ago. This large section has a rough surface, loose gravel, raised edges and a metal cover sticking up, so is really hazardous for traffic coming down the hill. Cars slow down suddenly to avoid hitting the really uneven surface at speed and cyclists swerve to the opposite side of the road to try to avoid catching their wheels at the wrong angle on the raised edges. I’ve seen numerous near accidents with moped delivery drivers, scooter riders and cyclists trying to suddenly avoid this dangerous patch which isn’t visible until you’re practically on it, due to the gradient of the road. It is only a question of time before someone has a nasty accident on it.
