Speed sign obscured on hazardous bend, 12th May

Sun, 12 May 2024 10:29:09 +0100
51.725211 -1.325061

Usual overgrowth issue. Tricky bend. Speed limit usually ignore by motorists and now not even visible. Where mechanical hedge cutting is used, it causes issues around signs. Council should make a standard letter and where there’s a specific issue, remind land owners that even if they do a wonderful job on the other 98% of the hedge, it is very important to cut around signs manually to ensure visibility. Both immediately proximate and an adequate splay for the typical speed on the road.

Owners of 80 Arthray Road, Oxford, OX2 9AQ deliberately leave concrete blocks outside the pavement running along the front of their house. It is an obstruction to people and children walking along the pavement with their toddlers. Please fine the owners of 80 Arthray Road or Warn them that their senseless action has already injured young toddlers and children using the pavement. The owners of the house leave the blocks outside on the pavements. Please remove them at once as I have gone past their house with my children and 2 of my children fell over the concrete blocks which aren't supposed to be there as the pavement is for public use and not for private.

The cycle lane on Eynsham Road is in such poor condition that it is barely rideable, 1st May

Wed, 01 May 2024 08:33:59 +0100
51.750328 -1.303143

I have previously reported the dreadful state of the cycle lane on Eynsham Road, especially where it meets Cumnor Hill. I see that the worst potholes have now been reported as fixed. This has indeed dealt with the very, very worst parts of the cycle lane, but it remains in an appalling condition, forcing cyclists out of the already far too narrow cycle lane and into the main carriageway. Please visit the site and try riding a bike along on it, and ideally ask someone with arthritic hands to do this - you will soon see that the problem goes much further than a couple of potholes that are large enough to meet the criteria for repair that are based on the impact on drivers and cars, not cyclists and bicycles. The cycle lane needs to be rideable by cyclists, and this requires maintenance to a standard that applies to them, not to drivers. In the absence of the protected cycle lanes that are actually needed please, at the very least, resurface the area that is conceded to cyclists to bring it up to a decent standard, and repaint the lines to meet the 2.0m recommendation from DfT.

There is a constant flow of water out of a duct that has a BT cover on it - see photo attached, 30th April

Tue, 30 Apr 2024 18:52:20 +0100

There is a consrtant stream of water from an underground source with a BT manhole cover. It runs down the pavement and has been reported for 6 months to various authorities. Nothing has been done. In icy weather ift freezes and since ifs crosses the entrance pathway to the children's morning play school it is likely to cause slippage accidents. Similar issues for pedestrians.
