FIXMYSTREET IN OX29 4DW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of OX29 4DW:
Back-filled strip across cycle path has sunk below path, 29th April
There are a number of places where the cycle path has been dug through and then back-filled. Most of the back-fills are level enough with the surrounding path, but one is really too sunken and is probably only going to get worse. (The picture doesn't show this very well, but try cycling over it and you will see. One cyclist has had a tyre blow out because of it. There's a risk, especially in the dark, that a cyclist will be thrown.)

Several deep potholes on roundabout, 22nd April
Several large and deep potholes in the left hand lane moving around the roundabout following the A40 eastbound towards Oxford. Potholes in various locations across the width of the lane, thus very challenging to steer around. The pothole has been here for a quite a while and when it rains I have got wet from vehicles driving through it when I have been on the pavement. The water has even gone into our front porch when I opened the front door to get into my car and a delivery van drove through the pothole emptying the water.

Multiple large and deep potholes., 22nd April
There continues to be large and deep potholes down the whole road. They do not get fixed properly and again the road is impassable. Quite sure that there will be claims made against the council very soon because of these and as a taxpayer, I want this avoided.

Should this be maintained by council or us, 3rd April
This small strip of land is in between the pavement and the assumed boundary of our front garden (house number 13) The other ‘strips’ on our side are all turfed, but ours has historically been tarmac’d at some point. On the other side of the road the owners’ gardens go right up to the pavement, so who owns this strip of land on our side and why is it there? It is not clear on our deeds - in fact it looks like our front garden boundary goes right up to the footpath, the same as the homes on opposite side. It does not say we have to maintain a verge or footpath in deeds. If it is owned by you, why has it never been maintained? If it is ours, do we need permission to use/maintain it? We have tried to look after it over the years with weeding etc but the tarmac is now in extremely poor condition. I’d prefer it was turfed like all the others (if it is owned by you) as this would be easier for us to maintain. If it is definitely yours but we can adopt it to save you work then please let me know! Many thanks, Jaime

Carriageway Life Expired, 28th March
The carriageway at this location just short of Eynsham Roundabout has completely failed. It's uneven with cracked surfacing, sharp ridges which could be dangerous for vulnerable road users like cyclists and motorbikes and it floods because of the uneven surface, with the standing water probably exacerbating the defects.
