A car has been parked on the road, 18th April
There's a silver Volkswagen hatchback (possibly a polo or golf) parked on the road as you're coming into Oxford for Eynsham/Witney. It's been parked there last 2 days. It's just as you're going downhill to go under the bridge and I almost hit it yesterday and today it was still there. The car might have been stolen the way it's been parked and left in the middle of a40. No car owner would ever dump their own car like that especially not one that looks quite newish. Please remove it before it causes an accident

20MPH Signs Needed on Sunderland Ave/Wolvercote Roundabout, 12th April
Covert Thames Valley Police speeding vans are an almost permanent fixture these days on Sunderland Avenue in North Oxford. I've seen one almost every time I've driven down it in recent weeks. Sometimes they are parked, at other times they drive down it. Today (12/04/2024 at 12pm) there was a van (reg: OU18 AYL) driving down it as I joined Sunderland Avenue from the Wolvercote Roundabout.
Presumably the vans are hoping to catch people committing driving offences, including speeding.
This issue I wish to report is that the first 20mph speed limit sign (for cars travelling towards Elsfield Way) is approximately 20 yards from the Banbury Road roundabout. This means that cars must travel 75% of the length of Sunderland Avenue before seeing the 20mph signs. A sign is required at the top of Sunderland Avenue/Wolvercote Roundabout. Without it, cars travelling over 20mph and under 30mph run the risk of being fined for speeding. If one were cynically minded one could take the view that Thames Valley Police were deliberately exploiting this stretch of road, like shooting fish in a barrel.
Cars that join Sunderland Avenue from the A40 or the nexus of A roads will be slowing to urban speeds. If they are to slow to 20mph from the start of Sunderland Avenue, they must be informed of the 20mph speed restrictions at the mouth of Sunderland Avenue/Wolvercote Roundabout. I’m inclined to think that magistrates would agree that not providing this signage at the top while police speeding vans lurk in wait is unfair in the extreme.

Blocked gulleys, 8th April
The gulleys along Cassington Road above the Red Lion pub are blocked with stones and other debris. No water is draining away. They have not been cleared for many years. This part of Cassington Road floods whenever it rains heavily as shown in the picture. Secondly, this winter numerous potholes have appeared and been repaired as the water is not draining away as the gulleys are blocked.
