The Silver Toyota, AF57GUW, is parked on the footpath in Merton Road, opposite Yew Tree Cottage. Not only is the entire footpath blocked, but the vehicle is also parked so close to the temporary traffic lights that larger vehicles travelling into Ambrosden (such as the HGVs that regularly go to the animal feeds business just outside the village) are experiencing extreme difficulties manoeuvring between the Toyota and the traffic lights.
The Toyota can regularly be seen parked in any one of several equally inconsiderate ways.

Sign abandoned by Gigaclear taking root after five months, 22nd April
Originally reported some five months ago, with a reminder submitted subsequently when no action had been taken to recover it, despite repeated assurances it would be removed, this diversion sign is now lying on its back in the long grass. Close by is a sign issued by Cherwell District Council warning of a £10,000 fine for fly-tipping.

Failed road surface, 18th April
Multiple locations, from Arncott to M40 road bridge, along Murcott Road, where the road surface has totally failed. Cars have to swerve to avoid failed road patches. This has been like it for years and it is time the council corrected it.

BT service lid improperly secured, 17th April
The lid is not sitting fully down and poses a tripping hazard. One of my children nearly went flying when she went over it on her rollerblades.
It's been in this state since at least the weekend.

Road surface is collapsing. Potential for flooding of property, 15th April
The road surface immediately outside the entrance to East Cottage, Merton Road, Ambrosden is collapsing. The diameter of the collapse is presently ~50cm, but the rate of deterioration is noticeable on a daily basis. The collapse appears to sit along the line of previous works to repair drainage after East Cottage was flooded (which could happen again if the rainwater drain below the road has collapsed). Merton Road is due to be closed to through traffic in 11 days for resurfacing. Might it make sense for this work to be conducted at the same time, to minimise inconvenience to those who travel on this road?

Two cars illegally parked on the highway, 14th April
These two cars decided it was perfectly okay to straddle the pavement and leave their cars to go for a dog walk for two hours,not only was it difficult to get a pram through, but also a disabled person was having trouble negotiating half a path and the grass. They were also Obscuring the view to get out of the lane to turn left. when the disabled person challenged the two women about their disgusting parking, they told him that you would do nothing about it and drove off!

Aware its not the time to do the hedges, as of nesting but want some guarantee it will be trimmed as soon as it can be. Its way overgrown, behind house 1-4 and the garages, Greenfields. Hedges are on Murcott Road

Vehicles on the footpath to avoid speed bumps, 2nd April
The two speed bumps (traffic calming) on Ploughley road are being circumnavigated by vehicles now mounting the footpath to avoid the speed bumps at both ends of the road. This is highly dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists and will result in a serious injury if hit due to the stupidity of the vehicle drivers. Concrete bollards or temporary obstructions are needed to stop this.

Grass verge is now non existant, 2nd April
Cars drive across the pavement at the top of Merton Road to park on what used to be a grass verge.Its now an unsightly mess and makes the pavement very muddy in winter making it awkward if you have a pushchair or young child.Its also not a very attractive entrance to Ambrosdenif you were heading to the new housing developmentin Merton Rosd..Ideally the pavement needs swapping with the verge.

"Half a job" repairs scheduled by Oxfordshire County Council highways department?, 31st March
Several extensive and deep potholes along this stretch of Ploughley Road, from its junction with Merton Road to the junction with Old Arncott Road, have already received white paint outlines identifying them for repair - although the markings are significantly faded so evidently Oxfordshire County Council isn't exactly rushing to make the surface safe.
The issue is, the road is breaking up and deteriorating into potholes immediately adjoining those already marked for attention, which raises the question of whether the council's highways repair contractors will only repair what is marked, or will common sense (and respect for council tax payers' hard-earned cash) see these new areas of damage repaired at the same time? They might not meet the repair criteria as I write this report, but by the time the contractors arrive on site, I suspect they will!
