Wildflower verges, Biodiversity matters., 2nd May
Hello I live in Hardwick, OX16, Winchelsea close.
I wrote to the District council recently, who said you have overall responsibility for managing many of the verges within the town/district. I am concerned as to how often you are mowing the verges, given that we are in a climate crisis, and wildlife is struggling. I appreciate you leave some areas more wild and allow wild flowers to grow, but feel there could be more. I have looked on your website and see you have declared a climate emergency, and have plans in place to address pollution, public transport, cycle routes, and biodiversity, so why if this is the case are grass verges still being cut so regularly.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and I would appreciate a response that addresses my concerns, not a automated one.

Traffic not Optimum, 1st May
Hi - I travel every day this route from work to home and find that the Southam Road traffic backs up terribly. It seems that traffic from the Warwick Road gets the green light and cars stack up in the yellow box then when the light goes green for traffic on Southam Road there is no where to go. On the worst occasions (particularly mid week days) only one or two cars get through each time. Worth noting also that traffic does not build up on the Warwick Road. Traffic meanwhile on Southam is backed up past Waitrose. Also noting that this is only exacerbated by B&M now being on the Southam Road. I feel it would be worth this issue being investigated as it is such a main road through Banbury and I think that the traffic light system there could be improved to keep a better flow of traffic. Many thanks

Parking in an anti social manner, 30th April
We have resident parking at some expense to residents on west bar street in banbury. There is a problem particuarly during the daytime with people parking for short periods and because there are not marked out parking bays other than the parking zone mostly not parking in a manner that allows for optimum efficient use of the parking zone. However, this is only the tip of the ice burg. We currently have an issue on west bar street where residents appear to be leaving their vehicle parked for long periods (weeks not day) in a manner that reduces the number of cars that can be parked in a zone. So for example currently (see photos) there is a silver vehicle that has been parked for at least two weeks with his front end about 3-4 ft from the end of the zone an area that you could park a motobike in an the guy whose car it is does have a motorbike, I think but he has not parked it there and the result is the other residents cannot fit their cars in at the end of the day when they come back from work without difficulties. In other words the parking scheme at West bar is not currently working. There are not allocated bays for motobikes and people are not aware of the need to park their vehicle efficiently so that residents can also use the parking zones. This could be remedied by the introduction of motobike parking areas and marking within the parking zones to indicate suitable parking areas for each vehicle. Hence, in the zone in the picture four vehicles could gain parking in this zone for a greater rather than lesser percentage of time. Also, the disabled parking zone outside Windrush surgery is not working. Nobody is parking in it after the surgery is closed. Its a waste of space and might make ideal parking for motobikes etc.
