The Muddisdale path has suffered some serious damage from the rain last week. There needs to be some repairs made to the path to avoid people injuring themselves. While a permanent repair might be expensive it would save this happening every time there is some heavy, heavy rain. Patches of the path have been cemented and are bearing up far better than other areas.

Cars parking on pavement blocking disabled access, 1st June
These cars park continually on the pavement blocking access for wheelchairs and mothers with prams and buggy's. Lorry's and bigger vans have now started using it to park as they see cars using the pavement .Could signs be erected for loading/unloading only or just parking prohibited as the pavement will get damaged shortly .

The road here is terrible and could do with some serious resurfacing. I was through here on Monday and it was a right state.

Water damage, 1st February
During the recent bad weather the footpath here has been wrecked by what I can only assume is the sheer volume of water passing over the path. Parts of the path have deep gouges out of the surface material.

Trip hazard, 25th August
The Council, or another body, have set up traffic monitoring on the main Kirkwall to Stromness road. Where this system crossed the pavement there is a black rubber triangular wire guard. This wire guard is black and not highlighted. With the poor illumination in the area, the high volume of walkers/ runners in the area and the speed of the traffic on the road next to this rubber construction it would be beneficial if this was a bright colour in an attempt to make it more visible to people using the pavement and avoid the potential for anyone falling onto the road.

Ice on pavement and road, 2nd January
Just fallen when stepping off the pavement onto the road to get in my car, about 20:45 land flat on my back across the kerb. No salting of the pavement has taken place nor has the road been slated or gritted.
