Roadworks sign on pavement, 15th February
Some months ago there were roadworks taking place on Calderbrook Road and at times the road was closed except for access. This ended some months ago but one of the "road closed" signs has been left on the pavement (lying face down) at the junction of Calderbrook Road and Barnes Meadows. Could this please be removed as it is a hazard to pedestrians, particularly those with disabilities

Flytipping, 19th June
A number of black bags and other rubbish has been dumped on the side of the bridleway/farm access road leading off Higher Calderbrook Road - ie the first turn to the left coming up this road from Calderbrook Road. I think the rubbish was left about a week ago and appears to include cannabis-related items. A few metres past this flytip, on the opposite side of the bridleway, there is an area used for parking (unofficially) where 4 tyres have also been dumped.

Blocked drain, 18th September
The drain on Calderbrook Road, at the Bottom of Higher Calderbrook Road, is blocked again, so even in dry weather water is coming up through the drain grid and running down the road to the next exit point. In wet weather there is a minor flood at this point.

Damaged nameplate, 7th June
Some weeks ago, the freestanding street name sign at the bottom of Higher Calderbrook Road was damaged by one of the heavy vehicles going up to either Slack Farm or Grimes Farm. The lefthand support post was knocked partially out of the ground so it is now lopsided, and part of the "Higher" was broken.

Flytipping, 24th May
Someone has tipped a large amount of tree branches alongside the bridleway/Grimes Farm access road, a short distance along from its junction with Higher Calderbrook Road. The bridleway is the first left turn after turning up Higher Calderbrook from Calderbrook Road where St James' church is. The branches are on the right shortly after the left hand bend, as shown on the map. They probably appeared late Friday or early Saturday 23 May.

Littering in rural area, 23rd October
This is on Calderbrook Road, Littleborough, at the point where there is a barrier because the road from that point is impassable to vehicles. It is extremely badly littered, and is obviously a place where people go at night to drink and use drugs. When I walk there, I always pick up a carrier bagful of plastic and glass bottles, and drinks cans, taking them home to recycle. However, that has little effect and there is always more litter there when I return. Is it possible to provide a clean-up of the area, and a litter bin, in an effort to make the area less of an eyesore?

Drainage Problem, 23rd October
This is a rough footpath/bridleway connecting Calderbrook Rd to Higher Calderbrook Rd. Recently it has had a constant flow of water down it, which appears to originate from under the ground at the top of the path where it connects with HC Road as it bends to the left. This pours down, taking silt and stones with it which, as it meets Calderbrook Rd, blocks the drains (now almost impossible to see), and runs down until it meets a drain which is still clear. These blocked drains need locating and clearing. However, more importantly, the source of the flow needs investigating. This has only occurred since large earth-moving works have started at Slack Farm, and may well be due to disturbance of existing drainage.

Damaged lamppost, 30th June
Street light no 7, on Higher Calderbrook Road, has its protective cover on the lower part of the post knocked to one side, leaving the wiring exposed. This has been caused by one of the many trucks, which are too wide and heavy for this narrow rural road, constantly going up and down. The same thing happened some months ago, reported by me at the time.

Dangerous metal swarf tipped, 8th March
On the 50mph section of Todmorden Road, heading towards Todmorden, there is a pile of spiral metal swarf dumped (or maybe fallen off a vehicle) on the grass verge on the right. It is difficult to pinpoint on the map, but it is a short distance past the building which used to be the Bird i'th Hand pub (see photo). There are also some individual spirals scattered along the verge; as these are very sharp, a potential danger to dogs being walked on the grass. This was observed on 7th March.

Dozens of potholes going up on Timbercliffe OL15 9QL, 14th February
About 8 weeks ago, most of the families who live on Timbercliffe have notified Rochdale Council online. The council have sent repairers who only just marked those potholes around them with white paint. Since then, we haven't seen any work done as no-one came back to fill them all. These potholes have now damaged our suspension cars and are dangerous even to walk our children to school !
