Dangerous parking on Farnsfield Main Street opposite The Ridgeway, 4th January

Thu, 04 Jan 2024 15:06:09 +0000
53.101592 -1.030073

As a resident of Farnsfield I have to cope every day with vehicles parking along one side of Farnsfield Main street opposite the end of The Ridgeway. The vehicles are being parked by people going into the Woodbury Cafe. For example this morning I was faced with 6 or 7 cars parked on the Cafe side of the road ( some being parked on the pavement!) causing length delays of traffic coming both ways through the village. In the past I have, on three occasions when driving into the village from Edingley, I have almost had a "head-on crash" with other vehicles turning left out of the Ridgeway! I was told well over a year ago that there were plans to put double Yellow Lines at the junction but this has not happened ..... WHY???? Something needs to be done ASAP before somebody is hurt.

Supermassive Black Pothole, 14th March

Sun, 14 Mar 2021 13:26:34 +0000
53.098302 -0.985296

J0313-1806 is a Supermassive Black Pothole that has been lurking on the fringes of the junction of Lower Kirklington Road/Southwell Road for some time. As time had slowly marched on, the now gargantuan singularity has gradually absorbed surrounding matter, including nearby smaller black holes that have been orbiting this object, unable to break from it's mammoth gravitational influence. J0313-1806 has now become so massive that it is at risk of collapsing in on itself and becoming so large, that it will swallow objects whole (cars, motorbikes, cyclists).

Excessive speed of vehicles across top of nether court and further down Brickyard Lane, 9th May

Fri, 09 May 2014 11:04:17 +0100
53.1027954011885 -1.02576486375428

Vehicles traveling down Brickyard Lane go across the end of Nether Court and down Brickyard Lane at a speed well in excess of the 30mph speed limit. This is dangerous to dog walkers, cyclists etc. Further 30mph speed limit signs would help to ensure that everyone is aware it is a 30 zone. Speed bumps would be even more effective

Dangerous car parking, 28th April

Thu, 28 Apr 2011 18:59:20 +0100
53.094939 -1.006203

Two cars here park "wrong way" on the frontage, but the frontage is too narrow meaning that the cars are partly on the road. As one drives down Edingley Hill the cars are an obstruction as it means that, to avoid them one suddenly has to pull over across the centre of the road. The real danger is that at night there are no repectors to warn oncoming drivers of this hazards

Parking on the corner, 22nd October

Thu, 22 Oct 2009 08:27:31 +0100
53.1025944234055 -1.02617333523083

Hi, the owner of the corner bungalow, Ashling, at the end of Nether Court parks his car right on the corner especially at weekends and evenings. This is causing a problem as the turn is so narrow from Brickyard Lane and there is poor visibility It is very difficult for emergency or large vehicles and there have been several ''near misses'' especially in winter when the road is slippy. He has parking adjacent to his house on Brickyard Lane but doesnt park there. Lots of the residents in Nether Court find this a problem. He was approached by an elderly resident who has mobility issues and finds it a particular problem but refused to move his car.
