Overgrown Cypress hedge blocking pavement and driver vision, 7th August
On the corner of Chapel Street and New Causeway there is a hugely overgrown Cypress hedge which blocks half of the pavement and also causes drivers to have to pull halfway into New Causeway in order to see if the road is clear before pulling out. By the time the driver can see, his vehicle is already dangerously into New Causeway, which is the main road through the village. Also, people with pushchairs or in wheelchairs have to use the roadway as the pavement is so blocked by this hedge - see the photograph for details. On the photograph, the boundary line of the property is the brick wall, and as can be seen, the hedge is approx 1.5 metres encroaching on to the pavement. The hedge is causing danger to both pedestrians and drivers and it is just a matter of time before there is an accident at that location.

Footpath blocked by crop, 3rd July
I have reported this problem before and the Council served an enforcement notice several weeks ago. The farmer has a history of blocking this path every year and never restores the footpath as he is legally required to do, even when enforcement notices have been served. He apparently will not comply with his legal obligations and I suggest prosecution as the only way to dissuade him of the notion that the law does not apply to him.
