Report on FixMyStreet
Approx 60m south of junct with A52, 13th April
Please Note - This is a Category 1 defect. This is now the fourth or fifth time this problem has been reported following three or four previous repairs which have involved cold materials failing to bind, inadequate compaction and a failure to remove all the defective material before adding new. As you will note from the attached photos this is now a significant structural failure of the highway. It requires full scale excavation and removal of all previous materials used in repairs, all edges cut back to integral existing material, Type 1 added as necessary, 150mm base and 50mm of surface course, all tack coated, sealed and compacted as appropriate. It would be nice to see either a hot box used to convey repair materials or at least the gang on site having and using a thermometer before laying the materials.
