Broken glass on footpath, 15th March

Very dangerous steps leading down to beach., 12th June
These steps are in a dangerous state of repair, the metal nose on the steps is bent with pebbles pushed under. They are eroded to such an extent as to make very undulating and very easy to fall or trip.

URGENT Tree Preservation Order application., 16th April
As a local resident, rather than the actual property owner, I wish to apply for an urgent Tree Preservation Order on the large Corsican pine tree in the garden at 5 The Avenue, Sheringham. I understand that the owner of a neighbouring property has applied to you for permission to fell this tree, on the basis that it has damaged a party boundary wall, this has been granted & felling is imminent. However, I don't believe that your authority has actually visited this site or specifically considered the amenity the tree provides to local people & our environment. Although it is accepted that any preservation order would certainly need to be subject to measures to reduce its height & the risk that it damages the property it stands next to. I understand this has already been proposed by the property owner, who strongly wish to retain it.
My grounds for requesting a TPO are that there are precious few mature trees remaining in this neighbourhood & it therefore has greater intrinsic value than might otherwise be the case. I'm not sure exactly how old the tree is but, given it's height, it's certainly been there a very substantial time & far longer than the property behind it on Regis Place. In fact I think this is one of the oldest trees in this part of Sheringham. I am told that this tree was substantial & mature 20 years ago. I walk past this tree every day & am always struck by its size, age & beauty . It may not be a Californian Redwood or an ancient oak but this tree is still valued & enjoyed. I am sure many other people feel the same, including neighbours in adjoining properties, some of whom have already said they will support this application. As a pine tree it is symbolic of Sheringham itself, 'twixt sea & pine'. Although I fully accept that the tree is not in an ideal location, I don't believe that this exempts it from preservation, albeit in a reduced size.
I also believe that the tree is important environmentally. It provides nesting, cover & perching for many garden birds & I often stop & watch flocks of birds flying in & out of its branches. The tree is surrounded on one side by bushes & ivy & as it's currently nesting time, felling it now would be even more destructive. I also believe that a tree of this size must play a significant role in reducing the risk of flooding from the nearby beck by drawing up water.
Finally, I understand that as a local council you are committed to fighting climate change & feel that destroying a beautiful iconic tree in favour of a block wall gives entirely the wrong message. Every tree counts. We live in a conservation area & I think we need to conserve the flora & fauna in our gardens as much, if not more, than the built environment.
Given the above, I should be grateful if you would now suspend your permission to fell this tree as a matter of urgency & instead consider its preservation for current & future generations to enjoy.

Danger to walkers on pavement., 28th September
1. Pavement in dangerous condition because of tree roots. 2 Vegetation intrusion onto pavement. 3. Concret walll collapsed because of recent weather conditions. 4. Tree in precarious state that could fall anytime. Only helped by recent wind gusts blowing from North West instead of South Rast.

Campervan permanently setup on Churchill crescent, 30th July
This campervan has been parked up camping on Churchill crescent for the last 2 days. Permanently setup with the vans awning and stabilisers out, restricting room on a narrow road and using the adjacent grass verge as a garden for their dog.

4 bags of rubbish and large bits of wood, 26th June
Rubbish appeared over last few weeks, bags have Barclays bank address, phoned them but nothing has happenend. next door have also had Barclays bank rubbish left behind their shop. I have got rid of a curtain pole they left too.
