FIXMYSTREET IN NR25 6TU
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NR25 6TU:
Car crashing through hedge & metal fence, 29th October
This is second time a vehicle has driven off the road at the A148 roundabout in Holt. Most recently last weekend. Crashed through hedge, across grass and, through black metal fence. Had it travelled any further, it would have hit the pair of semi detached houses in Woodpecker Avenue, Holt, which is on the new Lovell estate. A crash barrier is required on this curve, just in front of the hedge, to stop vehicles travelling any further. I picked up a piece of what I presume is the vehicle this morning while walking my dog. It's bright yellow and, looks like carbon fibre. Also, there is a traffic island just a few meters down Nightjar Road from the roundabout, which has damage caused in the Summer. The yellow bollard is distorted & the circular blue/white sign has been knocked out onto the island.

Removal of free car parking spaces and public footpath, 6th January
Two builders skips and a contractors vehicle are currently using three ‘free’ on-street car parking spaces on Shirehall Plain, Holt. The parking area, including the public footpath running along the gable end of ‘The Shirehall’ has been fenced off. There have been no notices posted on-site or on the NCC online List of Temporary Road Works. Should there be legal entitlement to obstruct the Highway, how long will these valuable free car parking spaces be out of use? If there is not legal entitlement, will this be addressed ASAP?

Outside Debonair, (the shop on Bull street ) pavement is blocked, 18th May
Down Bull street in Holt which is a one way traffic zone , the proprietor of Debonair insists on putting an advertising board outside on the narrow pavement. Which means you have to walk on the road to get passed. He hasn’t got a permit for an advertising board. It makes it very dangerous to walk passed. This has been going on for the past 2months.

Erection of private signage restricting parking on the public highway, 9th August
The Norfolk County Council's temporary traffic order for Sunday Market events in Holt does NOT include the removal of car parking from Shirehall Plain, a triangular shaped public car parking area which provides free car parking spaces on a Sunday without restriction to residents and visitors. It has been brought to my notice that two signs have recently been attached to the posts which display the standard NCC traffic regulatory signs on Shirehall Plain. These circular signs have the appearance of statutory traffic signs which bear the wording: "NO PARKING 8AM - 5PM SUNDAY". These signs appear to have been erected to enable organisers of the Sunday Markets to hire out pitches on the parking spaces to stallholders wishing to sell goods on Sunday's up to 5th December 2021.

Urgent road signs needed, 1st June
The road from Briston to Holt is closed at the junction of B1149. A car went into a house there yesterday and the road has been closed since then. There needs to be diversion signs at the Briston Crossroads with B1354 because people are not aware of this road closure until they get to Holt and can go no further. They then have to turn round and go all the way back to Briston as there is no other way through. this is now very dangerous with cars turning round in the road.
