Road collapse, 18th March
Collapse of the single carriageway edge has meant that a vehicle has hit the vergemaster posts and knocked it into the culvert. Other posts have been also knocked out of alignment along this well used single track road which means the carriageway is virtually unusable by most vehicles and get more and more damaged everyday.

Pothole c8cm deep, 80-90cm long & deteriorating, 26th February
Previously reported to you on 25th January 2024, ref 5491413. Closed by you as apparently a ‘duplicate’, with expected repairs due w/c 13th February. This hasn’t happened. The pothole has significantly worsened since. Also see photo of another pothole a few metres away. Unsure who placed cone in road, but pothole bad enough to be dangerous. I repeat that the road condition through this village is worsening each year and patch repairs fail, often after a few months.

30cm deep hole adjacent road, 6th January
Recent flooding where the A43 meets the road to Deene has resulted in significant amounts of surface water flowing downslope along the Deene road. A deep hole has opened up adjacent the road, which would be dangerous if hit when passing larger vehicles requiring more space. Note also from the photos the general accelerated deterioration of the road edge caused by floodwater. The poor drainage & repeat flooding issue caused by run-off from fields onto the A43 needs resolving.
