Excessive debris in surface drain manhole, 4th March
The drain on the corner of our property (Gate House, corner of Queens Street & Baker Street) has an excessive build up of debris, getting close to the top of the manhole. This is possibly worsened now since the barn conversion was completed at Astwick House and also the roof replacement at The Cottage, both on Queens Street. Both of these have created more roof water to pour down the surface 'gully' past our property into the drain. I would hope water drainage was considered at the planning phase for both of these properties. As a minimum, we need the drain clearing on a more regular basis especially with the heavier rainfall we have been having recently.

Attempts are made by ramblers to make stepping stones, but these wash away or get submerged. This needs either a small bridge for walkers or solid stepping stones. Trying to traverse otherwise is dangerous for a lot of the year. A very useful path to join routes.
