Extreme road washout and pot holing., 8th June
The condition of the road is now very dangerous, there are large sections on inclines that are entirely eroded, which make driving on them difficult as it is so loose. It has been like this for over a year, and just gets worse as time goes on.
The worst section is on the first hill after Upper Cwmhir when travelling back up Cwmhir road, however there are large random potholes that are unavoidable throughout the lane.

Numerous potholes on Cwmhir Road, 11th January
There are lots of very deep potholes throughout Cwmhir Road. This road is in MONMOUTHSHIRE not Torfaen. Cwmhir Road (1.2 miles long) is a single track lane and the potholes can not be avoided. I have had 2 punctures now from these craters in the last 4 months. The severe potholes start approximately half way down the lane, made a lot worse by the farm tractor drivers from Trostra House farm Glascoed who should be made to drive their farm machinery through their fields and not on Cwmhir Road, as they not only rip up the tarmac causing deep ruts but also leave huge quantities of mud all over the road.
Pothole repairs are only ever made at the start of Cwmhir Road/Jerusalem Lane junction but the work is desperately needed approx 450m down the lane. Please help resolve these issues. Thankyou.
