Subject: Pedestrian Footpath Conditions at Bigsweir Bridge, 21st December
Dear Gloucestershire Highways,
I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the current state of the pedestrian footpath at Bigsweir Bridge. The condition of the path has reached an unacceptable level, posing a serious risk to pedestrians.
The presence of debris and the overgrowth of the hedge have made it nearly impossible to walk safely on the designated footpath. As a result, pedestrians, including myself, are forced to step onto the road, putting our safety at risk. This is especially concerning considering the traffic conditions near Bigsweir Bridge.
I kindly request that immediate action be taken to clear the footpath of debris and address the overgrowth of the hedge. This is crucial not only for the safety of pedestrians but also to ensure compliance with basic accessibility standards.

Trees fallen blocking access through route, 19th December
There are a few fallen trees that are blocking the access through route and is hard to over come the fallen trees for us to use safely, the position of the trees are DANGEROUSLY hanging over a verge and there is a road below.

customer has stated that lights from east side on green to allow traffic over bridge, does not give enough time to cross before opposite end (west side) turns green for traffic to continue causing potential collision. customer states sequence needs to be longer to allow traffic to pass bridge

Tree fallen across unsealed road, 26th October
About 5 m from the A466 on a minor road USRN14705419 maintained at public expense
This has been reported twice before on FMS 3525102 and 1850280 on 27/11/2019.
Tbis is a wonderful old lane but impossible to cycle or ride a horse down.
It would appear to be a tree from a hedge so landowners job? But GCC duty to get it removed perhaps with HA1980 s137 or s150?

Numerous 2 / 3 inches deep - 20 inches long / 8 inches across pot holes all down Llandogo Road between Freedom Cottages / Myrtle Cottage and below, 11th June
Llandogo Road from Cleddon Falls all the way down has huge numerous pot holes - they have been reported a number of times & nothing has been done. The road is almost impossible to drive up or down without trashing the wheels of the car - mine already has wheel damage! Really concerned about the condition of the road and being cut off. Please can you send someone out to look at the road & pot holes as a matter of urgency. Thank you

Large tree blocking highway., 14th May
This fallen tree has been a serious problem for all users of this pretty lane.
Is it the responsibility of the Highway Authority or the adjacent land owner? Either way it is the legal duty of the HA to secure its expeditious removal. i.e. HA80s130 etc.

Beacon Road as at least Dozen dinner plate-sized holes, one table sized on the Junction with Greenways lane and many smaller holes. All of the holes are deeper than a thumb. Various sections along the road also have crumbling verges, 30th April
These potholes have developed over the winter and now need to be avoided even in a car at slow speeds. The entire road surface is a mess and in desperate need of replacement

Several very large and potentially vehicle damaging pot holes have appeared along the length of this road and have not been repaired and must be done so asap as there is no way of avoiding them on this narrow lane so is days away from a car damage claim.

Approx 100m length of road full of deep potholes. last filled one month ago, have re apperaed due to very poor filling. why not repair properly. damage to car tyres will be billed to council, 13th December
These holes re appear every month due to wrong tarmac being used and poor filling. 8 years ago , a stretch of this 10 m long was repaired properly, and holes have never re appeared. The rest has been incorrectly repaired numerous times, and filling last about 1 month only and waste tax payers money, filled

Dangerous fallen tree, 17th November
This was reported some years back, but now it is very dangerous with the potential to fall on agile walkers. I say agile, as that's the only type of user still able to use this road.
If it did fall on someone as they were ducking under, the bill could be very expensive for the county. Part of it has already collapsed on the surface of the road.
I suggest getting this moved as a matter of urgency.
