Fleur de lis has no active crossing points. It is a busy village used by people of all ages and abilities, particularly near the community centre which regularly holds events for children. Currently people have to dart across the road to avoid being run over. Crossing the road is often very difficult due to illegal parking, speeding, and traffic. There is no sane reason to deprive people in the village of such a basic amenity as a pedestrian crossing, and it is long overdue. The recent death of a pedestrian due to a dangerous driver in the vicinity adds to the urgency with which this should be addressed.

Maesycwmmer Main Rd nr junct Mnt Pleasant Ave. redudndant CCTV sign propped against hedge near advertising car. Shows on Google street, May 2023, face down having 'Forest' markings. In same position in Oct 2022. Surely now passed its usefulness.

Parked on the pavement and stopping wheelchairs also park on a junction, 8th March
The van from the photo, always parks on the pavement stopping wheelchair access. Two of the neighbours are disabled, and need to be able to access the pavement at all times.
From the photo you can see that the vehicle is also parked on the junction, causing multiple blind spots for drivers and pedestrians.

Large pothole in narrowing road, 19th February
Large pothole forming where road narrows coming down the hill. There are old stone walls either side. I think it's been made worse by the amount of rainfall and this road always suffers significant water drainage issues in bad weather from water and debris being washed down the hill from higher up. The pothole is growing in size and will eventually be impossible to avoid as the road is narrow

Parking at end of hill view, 11th December
Commerical vehicles being parked for days and not moving then taking up valuable spaces for other residents which causes them to park unorthodox, where cars come down and up the road, will cause an accident sooner down the line.

Blocked gully in road, 14th October
This is ongoing but particularly bad coming into winter as it freezes and causes sheet black ice. It’s on the junction of Gordon road and Gordon Close, Blackwood and because it’s on a hill the water/ice streams across and down the road where the footpath ends and you have to start walking on it. Reported issues mths ago & again last month, still nothing done.. Flytipping & overgrown brambles again. Agreed by council a few yr back this atea would be maintained due to issue with rats. Area in question is behind old council garages, on Pleasant View next to green area as you come in to Pleasant View from Tabor Road, on left hand side
