Vehicle debris/parts still litter verges after flooding, 29th April

Mon, 29 Apr 2024 09:21:11 +0100
55.225838 -1.597988

There is still a scattering of broken vehicle parts along the verges and hedges either side of the recently flooded dip. This includes vehicle underbody shields and mudguards and reg plates etc. which the vehicle owners haven't collected and cleared up. All the vehicle parts and debris are making the road look unsightly. Could really do with the road-sweeper along as well the brush up all of the sediment.

Multiple street lights off - 3ec, 2ec, pc4, pc2, pc1, 24th April

Wed, 24 Apr 2024 21:11:06 +0100
55.221724 -1.572988

This is the second time the same five street lights have gone off in the space of a month or so. It seems strange that the Police recently have an ANPR camera attached to street lamp PC1 facing down the A1068. The ANPR camera is off when these five street lights go off, as the inferred is not showing at nighttime. Is someone deliberately turning these lights off to switch the ANPR camera off? It seems very odd. Lights 3EC, 2EC, PC4, PC2, PC1

Very faded road markings, 22nd April

Mon, 22 Apr 2024 12:03:55 +0100
55.20497 -1.565571

I have highlighted this issue before, about 2 years ago. The road markings on this very busy stretch of road are almost non-existent between the QE11 Country Park and the roundabout with the A1068 to Ellington/Linton/Ashington. In addition, the stretch has no viable cat's eyes. This past winter, in the dark - especially in the rain, has been a nightmare drive. I'm astonished that there hasn't been an accident.

Road (C121 Linton Lane) flooded in dip and damaging vehicles/vehicles breaking down., 12th April

Fri, 12 Apr 2024 12:19:43 +0100
55.226091 -1.598015

This flooding has been ongoing for months now during the very wet winter. This low point in the area is the drainage point for a large amount of surrounding land including Tute Hill, some of which drains under the railway and heads down into the open roadside ditch from the Electric Sub Station area at Ulgham Grange. The open roadside ditch needs digging out and piped-in and covered over as it is used as a rubbish bin by some of the locals who litter from their vehicles every day. They need to be identified by the Council using hidden cameras and fined! The immediate problem is that the end of the open ditch is blocked with rubbish just up from the dip. This means the water cannot enter the underground pipe and go beneath the road and then go under the fields into Linton Burn to the east. The blocked drainage system is also causing flooding the fields as well.
