Cattle Grid Broken - Dangerous, 21st April
A large metal plate on the cattle grid has come loose and is sticking up causing a potential dangerous hazard to traffic. The surrounding road is also coming away and providing a large gap to travel across, this again could become a potentially dangerous hazard. This occurred on Saturday 20th April 2024. Please can this remedied as soon as possible given the risk to traffic.

Uncovered manhole, 26th March
Driving home from work Approximately 19:30 25/03/2024 I moved off single track road to let a car pass and dropped into a unguarded manhole. damaging the front passenger wheel arch moulding and injuring my neck. Recovery had to be called to get me out. Photo's to follow

3 Blocked drains on A68 Foundary Yard to Low House, 4th January
All 3 drains on A68 between Foundary Yard and Low House in Ridsdale are blocked and have been all winter. When it rains heavily the volume of water coming down the hill is too great for the clear drains at the bottom of the hill to cope with and the road floods across both sides. Several vehicles have been stuck in flood water this year.

Cattle grid, 18th November
The cattle grid is broken. This had previous been fixed with a metal plate and this has come off an nearly caused damage to a vehicle. Now when going over the cattle grid if you don’t stay to one side you end up in a hole and I’m concerned this is going to damage not only member of the publics vehicle but if any council vehicles or god forbid emergency services have to come down here their vehicle are at risk too

Road flooded worsened over the week very deep causing damage to cars URGENT, 27th October
Road from Bellingham to Redesmouth just after the farm before Redesmouth Cottages the road was flooded last week - drain needs cleared as during rainfall this week it has worsened over the last few days again covers both sides of highway and deep this morning someones under carriage of car been ripped off due to deep water- Please come and clear drains or you'll have claims for car damage

As this is part way down a bank it is not currently sitting in water but it looks completely blocked and will no doubt cause knock on issues downhill.

Overgrown verges, 3rd July
Verges need to be cut. There is a lot of traffic on the road and the verges are overgrown which means you can’t see to get off the road for vehicles. When the road was resurfaced it was built up so there is a drop at either side which you can’t see, this makes it very dangerous for pushchairs and wheelchair users. This issue has already been reported by a resident over a month ago.

Large hole in path for over eight months, 15th June
A small but deep hole in the path of Armstrong Street was reported by a resident to Northumberland Council over eight months ago. Northumberland council then investigated this issue and proceeded to dig a much larger hole but have since abandoned this issue and no progress has been made for over eight months. The hole was left covered by a plate but this plate is not anchored as per the written instructions on the plate and this plate could easily be moved which would expose any footpath users to this hazard.

Overgrown verges, 12th June
Verges are overgrown, can not get off road with pushchair/wheelchairs when meet traffic which makes walking down the road dangerous. After the road was resurfaced there is a drop off onto verge but when overgrown you can see this.
