FIXMYSTREET IN NE48 2DU
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NE48 2DU:
Cars illegally parked from the bottom of Westlands bank, all the way up to Reenes Way, 22nd April
Cars are constantly parked on the pavements from the bottom of Westlands hill, all the way around Westlands, Renes Way and Saint Oswals Court. I cannot get by with my pushchair and have to go into the road, putting the lives of my children in danger. In particular there are cars parked at the very top of Westlands hill on the left, opposite the little bungalow, and all the way along the road to Renes Way on the right hand side, especially outside of the two police houses. One house in particular has a number of cars and insists on parking them all along the path even though they have a driveway. Inthe summer this is ridiculous.

Unsteady fence falling apart, sheer drop, 16th April
The fence which sits above Hareshaw Burn has missing rails and others which are incredibly loose. One post in particular is very unstable and no longer secure in the ground. If anyone were to trip etc and fall into the fence they are very likely to fall the 10ft straight drop into the burn below. This is along a popular right of way, near homes and caravan park etc.

Sharp exposed concrete leading edge from drain surround, 14th April
The concrete edging to this drain has a large sharp exposed edge perpendicular to traffic. It has not been sloped down to the road surface like others in the area.
The sharp edge and corner are touching the road surface.
I caught this edge in my car which caused an immediate cut to the tyre and a puncture.
If a motorcyclist or cyclist were to hit this it could cause severe injury.
I'm not sure why the edging is required at all, many drains in the area are simply level with the tarmac with no edging, or have a simple sloped curb parallel to the road which poses far less risk to the direction of travel.
