General road state and potholes., 10th April
The entire road out side our property has been a disgrace for a while now. As previously reported Potholes were “fixed” by a man filling them then jumping on his “work” instead of properly compacting the area. It’s a complete and utter joke. We pay over £3500 a year council tax to have one bin a week emptied!

Road is covered in potholes and surface is severely deteriorated throughout., 22nd March
The stretch of Colliery Lane from Staward Villa Farm down to Oakpool is completely covered in potholes of varying size and depth. The surface of the road is severely deteriorated and has completely washed away in parts. At one part the road is so narrow it will soon be difficult to drive on. We use this road on a daily basis (it's the main route from our home) and it is causing damage to our vehicles. Recently, my 84yr old mum needed an ambulance, this did caused major problems. The usual van equipped with a bucket of tar won't be enough this time unfortunately. Resurfacing, in my opinion is essential and long overdue. Thank you!

Very deep pothole directly outside our drive/junction onto Staward Lane, 26th February
This pothole was filled and the workmen did not use a whacked plate they only “jumped” on the filler. It was dislodged and made much larger by the first vehicle that went over it! Terrible terrible workmanship. This has been a severe hazard for months.

Tree on highway causing traffic issues . Police ref 22-0543 . on A686 between Whitfield village and Cupola Bridge, near River Allen. Police have a patrol car en route. Called through to depot.

Road too icy making it impassable (ongoing), 7th January
Appletree Bank was resurfaced by the council making it easier to access our house (Oakpool) however the gritter only seems to grit the top of the road making over 2/3rd of the hill impassable and almost impossible to get up and down unless you have a suitable vehicle. Please can we request that the gritter comes all the way down to Oakpool and feel free to use our car park area to turn the van around. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get out of our property and use either Appletree Bank or Colliery Lane. As Appletree Bank has already been resurfaced we know that a van can get down the hill. Just leaving us with piles of grit to do manually is an almost impossible task. All residents who live in the surrounding houses to Appletree Bank would be very grateful if this situation could be rectified before the winter truly takes hold. Many thanks.
