This bad piece of road has been getting worse for 13 years now. Every winter the ice makes it worse. There is a heavy traffic flow as the shops are round the corner, a well used church and a school are all in the vicinity. I have reported this to South Tyneside Council but nothing has been done

Deep pothole in bus stop, 3rd March
Unsure how long the pot hole has been there as I live in Sunderland but drove to South Shields seafront today and went over this pot hole and it has caused a flat tyre. The pot hole is in the bus stop by a brick bus shelter

Terrible cycle path., 21st September
The pathway between the Grotto and Souter lighthouse is horrible . worse than the pedestrian side. This is really bad to ride along considering the amount of people that use it. It's neglected and the cycle lane is even worse. It's like the council have forgotten about it.

Van parked on footway for advertising, 23rd January
I'm not sure if this counts as abandoned, or flyposting, but there is an old van parked on the footway at Marsden next to the ice cream kiosk beside the roundabout. I've checked and it is taxed, moted, and insured. But it is unsightly. Can something be done about this kind of advertising?

Bin overflowing with dog poo., 6th January
This bin is situated in a cul de sac right outside of my front window. It's only used by dog walkers who need to put themselves out of there way to use the bin. It's not used for fetuses because of its location. I request the removal of this bin completely as fed up of standing in and clearing up dog mess.

School parking, 3rd December
The residents of Hylton Avenue suffer every week day with parents of the school kids at the top of our street take over our drives and pavements every morning and evening! It’s very frustrating

Cars parking on pavement, 17th November
There are cars parked on the pavement every day (it’s even visible on the aerial map). This is despite the presence of parking bays on the road. The cars are parked fully on the pavement and therefore drive along the stretch of pavement between Arthur Terrace and the garage. They regularly drive on here during school drop off and pick up times (Marsden Primary School is opposite). This means that not only do they provide an obstruction on the pavement, they are also creating dangerous situations when parents and children are walking down the pavement. It has happened regularly that cars are reversing on the pavement near children running or using their scooters on the pavement. There need to be bollards installed on the pavement to prevent cars from driving onto them, at the Arthur Terrace and Mill Lane crossing, and at the side road where the garage is.

The road outside my house is unsuitable for the heavy buses wich now use it., 13th July
This section of of Cheviot rd was never a bus route, then in the 1980's a minibus route started. Now big heavy buses use this route but road is not suitable for such regular use by heavy buses, which causes my house to vibrate. Council have ignored several requets through there own website to investigate & a previous report on fixmystrret got a call from them but no investigation as promised in march this year. I will not go away on this !
