Unsafe parking, 26th April
For the last almost year, the parking on number 10 has creating nothing but trouble for other residents. Not only is there often a van parking on the corner causing major disruption as you drive around the corner. Secondly, the house being rented has a one car drive yet there’s currently 4 cars being kept there (one on drive, three on the corner). For those with children it’s impossible to get through the gap making it extremely unsafe to walk on the road with a child in a pram. Sometimes there’s not even enough room to walk on the path without a pram. The cars don’t move throughout the day much either meaning it’s a constant obstruction for everyone.

New loose road surface has ruined paint on my new car. I live off this road so have to use it, 14th April
A new road surface has been laid in the last 12 months on Batavia Lane and it is a discrace. It is basically loose gravel and even at 20mph has violently flicked thousands of stones into my wheels arches for months and has caused a lot of damage to the paint on my expensive new car. It will need fresh paint work to rectify the damage as it has devalued my car. The road also need to be resurfaced correctly rather than cheaply. Thank you Mark

Large, potentially dangerous in the dark, pothole, 4th March
On 2/3/14 (and the week before) there was a large (about 60cmx15cm) rectangular hole in the road as one travels uphill from Gibside entrance. From a driving position it looked as though a previous "filling" had been washed out. As there is no lighting in this area the hole is not seen when it is dark and therefore it is potentially quite dangerous.
