FIXMYSTREET IN NE12 8WH
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NE12 8WH:
Clacking grate, 13th March
There is a loose grate cover on Station Road, right outside my home. It clacks and clanks every time a car passes down the hill. I have been in contact with Northumbria Water for three months about this. They came and “fixed“ it on Friday (8th March) complete with traffic controls, but the “repair” managed to make it even louder. It is starting to affect my health. (Weirdly, some council workers came and stuck some tarmac round it the day before the water guys came, 7th March, but that didn’t improve things either)

Cars blocking street exit, 18th February
Nit the worst example but cars continually park partially across our street exit making turning left difficult and dangerous as no way of seeing oncoming traffic and need to be on wrong side of road as so many cars parked along roadside.

Dangerous overhanging bushes onto footpath, 9th August
Has been an issue for months. Blind client has cut hands and face on very spiky dog rose/hawthorn bushes that are blocking the footpath. It is not an option to use the kerb to follow as the outer path is the cycle lane. Please can these be cut back and monitored to avoid further injury. Many thanks. Dog Waste Bin, 26th May
The dog waste bin in this location was removed and not replaced. We've waited a long time in casenot was to be replaced with a new bin and post, but nothing has materialised.
The bin was very important as this field is the main area people in the adjoining estate use to exercise their dogs. The removal has now resulted in some owners not picking up after their dogs as there is no place to put the waste.
Why was it removed and when will it be replaced?

Dangerous parking on double yellow lines, facing oncoming traffic and blocking access to the back lane parking for our row of houses., 7th May
New restaurant has opened beside us and customers and staff park indiscriminately, causing access to our parking behind our row of houses to be either blocked, or too dangerous to access and manoeuvre into and especially out of. It blocks a clear view and makes getting out of the back lane dangerous. This has been happening for the past month since the retaurant opened, and for a month before while it was being refurbished.

Congestion, 28th March
Hi
The congestion build up at this junction, from Chester Ave leading onto West Farm Ave has become unbearable during the morning rush hour traffic.
This junction is used by all residents from this side of longbenton, as well as those using Leigh's Nursery and Balliol Primary School.
During a morning to exit this junction we rely soley on the good will of the drivers waiting in queue to exit west farm avenue. Even then, we are also at the mercy of oncoming traffic, so we have to cross over a road to enter traffic and this is where it becomes problematic. We are now at the mercy of two roads and their drivers to allow us out of the junction
This past week it has taken between 20-30 minutes sitting waiting patiently for both roads to allow a vehicle out.
Buses and lorries use West Farm Ave and rarely allow a vehichle to exit the junction.
This has been a long standing issue which has become more dangerous as people lose patience.
Could there be some temporary lights fitted to be used during rush hour
