Station Road, Ampthill, 23rd April
I original logged a report on 14th Oct 2023 (ref 395636) about the poor condition of the pavement on Station Road in Ampthill, in particular the pavement alongside Coopers Hill. The report is no longer visible on Fix My Street. It has been logged as closed but no action has been taken.
The pavement has got even worse over the winter. As someone currently on crutches, I am acutely aware of the uneven dangerous surface of the pavement, which is a busy pavement. Added to this, sleepers from the edge of the pavement sometimes fall onto the pavement and the coopers hill bushes often grow over the pavement, so in some places it is difficult to walk two-a-breath - meaning that sometimes people (including children) have to walk on the road instead of the pavement. This is not safe on a road that is busy at school drop off and pick up times.
Here is my original report content below:
The pavement on the Coopers Hill side of Station road is cracked, bumpy, with holes in it and generally in a bad condition. This is a busy pavement used by families on the school run. I’ve seen kids and older people stumble on the pavement. Buggies and scooters struggle along here as it is so uneven. In addition, the sleepers on the side of the pavement are not secure and regularly have fallen off onto the pavement, exposing sharp nails. Hundreds of kids walk along here each day and it is not in a good condition.

Footbridge just off Fordfield Road flitwick, 22nd April
There is a wooden footbridge just off Fordfield road in Flitwick near to Flitwick fisheries. It’s wooden with three wooden planks and no hand rail. It’s the only footbridge across a large ditch. The middle wooden plank has come loose and there is a real danger of slipping into the deep ditch which would cause serious injury. Could someone take a look as a matter of urgency. This has heavy foot traffic at this location.

Under the railway bridge, bridge side, 12th April
The pothole has been here for the last couple of months and being progressively worse (deeper and wider) and it is in the direct line of traffic flow and very hard to miss (it is located on the bridge side of the road, not near the pavement). I am reporting this as it's a frequently used route for people and is a route I have to use at least 4 times daily and now I am noticing that my car may have some spring/suspension damage from having to go through this pothole regularly - please can this be investigated.
