Blocked drain nr Long Row, 29th April
This is a resubmission of a report posted on Sunday the 28th of April (ref. 5909313). The initial submission was closed the following morning.
The response to the initial report stated that: 1) a highway officer had carried out an inspection and 2) the drain could only be inspected when the water had drained away
The water has not drained away (and the drain has been overflowing constantly for the whole winter), so which of the statements in the response were not true?
The response also stated that even a well maintained gully will sometimes flood with heavy rain. Whilst I'm sure this is true, I don't understand the relevance, as this particular gully floods constantly with little or no recent rain, therefore this gully is clearly not well maintained.
The response claimed this was not a safety issue. Wet mud on the highway is absolutely a safety issue. As stated above, this gully floods almost constantly, and continues overflowing for weeks after the rain has stopped (which typically means it doesn't stop overflowing before the next rain occurs). This constant flow of water down the hill washes mud and debris from the verge onto the carriageway itself, causing a hazard.

Blocked drain near Long Row, 28th April
The drain is blocked somewhere south (downhill) of Long Row. This causes rainwater to back up and overflow from the grate on the road outside the Long Row Turkey Farm. The water then runs down the road, washing mud and debris from the verge onto the carriageway.
This issue has been present for over a year.

4 potholes all in a line, 25th April
Despite these potholes having been repaired in the last 12 months they have reappeared. If they had been sealed they would not have returned. I report potholes here at least 3 times a year. It would be more of a financial benefit if the complete section was repaired. This area is a constant nuisance to drivers and cyclists
