On High Street opposite Steepholme, just along from Sunnybrook Cottage, 11th March
The path has crumbled away and the grass verge has been driven/parked on which has caused a ruck in the mud which restricts the path access to about 30cm, This means that anyone with a pushchair or wheelchair has to go out onto the road to pass, it also makes the path very muddy and slippery for pedestrians. This has been an ongoing problem for at least the last 4 years or but it's now getting impassable.

Footpath opposite dwelling ‘Steepholme’, High St Thornborough, 8th March
Grass verge and footpath have been eroded and significantly damaged by the residents car persistently parking on and over the footpath. Situated opposite side of road to the dwelling Steepholme. It is frequently impossible to walk along the footpath if the cars are parked there meaning pedestrians have to walk in the road which is the main road through the village and within 150 meters of Thornborough Infant School. I am concerned that this is dangerous for the pedestrians, often with young children and prams on the school run when traffic on High Street is at its busiest. This issue has been a problem since the current occupants of ‘Steepholme’ moved in approximately 5 years ago. They initially were improving their driveway but this project has been completed for well over a year now and they seem to still favour parking in the road. I understand there is a current approval for planning permission for a property extension and fear this matter can only get worse. The grass verge and pavement is currently the worst I’ve ever seen it.

Ref no. 5378909 - accident, 5th March
So, after my report on Jan 2, warning that the overflowing drain was an accident waiting to happen, it seems that yesterday morning, that's exactly what happened. Then within hours, the council sprung into action to resolve the flooding, but at the result of someone being involved in an accident, I told you was going to happen.

Lots of pot holes for heavy use of cars, 29th February
Lots of pot holes have appeared here and is making it a bit dangerous to drive over due to it being very close to a pond to do school run or get to church or village hall, a couple of times my car has hit these and my car has slid towards the pond. There is at least 30 cars every day going over this street. So it’s heavily used.

Outside The Pound Chapel Lane Thornborough, 28th February
This Drain, which is not shown on your map, is blocked and has been for some time. Because of this the rainwater from Chapel Lane runs right across the tarmac into the drain at the end of Church Lane. This is a hazard to both vehicles and pedestrians especially in Winter when it often freezes

All the kerbs along this road have been lowered except outside these three little bungalows, making getting in and out of my car with a stick we’re difficult and when we have to use our mobility scooter. We have to park a foot away from the kerb because otherwise I can’t balance enough to get out into the high kerb. These properties were built for a certain age group and they’re most inaccessible down our street., 28th February
I would like the kerbs lowered to make easier access for me and my husband. There is one slope higher up which we can’t always access because of parked cars and when you have shopping. stick or scooter the last thing we need is poor access to our bungalow.

Heavy hazardous mud all along Back St., 27th February
The road outside our house and to the end of Back St Thornborough MK18 2DH has today been made into a major hazard by inconsiderate contractors leaving heavy mud deposits along Back St from the entrance of North Field to the junction with Lower End. This risks windscreen breakage and contamination of vehicle tyres and underbody as well as being a skid hazard.

The previously-reported pothole, which was supposed to have been repaired in 2 working days (!) is now considerably larger, and more holes are opening up in other places in Back Street. This is a single-track road with a ford further down which has been impassable of late due to the amount of rain.

Poor road surface and large pot hole, 24th February
The whole area of this street directly outside the village hall, school and church in Thornborough has really bad road surface and large pot hole included. This road is heavily used every day with at least 30 cars a day going up this street due to teachers and parents coming and leaving the school Monday to Friday and then added on top of this is also users of the very busy village hall and church use this road! This has been getting worse for at least 12 months. The whole of this road needs completely resurfacing please and not just patching small bits up as it shows in the photos it’s clearly not working!
