Lay-by used as passing point used when meeting articulated lorries has a surface like the somme battlefield. Its a series of holes joined together with more holes. Totally unsafe for cars that have no where to go when meeting regular vehicles too large for the lane.

The road floods alot, now it has cleared it is leaving big holes in the side of the tarmac where it is breaking away some places is pushed in over a foot. They is a tight 2 way county road that could cause damage.

Line of rocks in road, 13th August
Presumably done by householder.A line of white painted rocks have been placed on the highway making it a bitch if you happen to be passing another vehicle.No chance to avoid them if the other vehicle is a lorry.The bloke is taking the piss

Broken road edge, 15th February
From hertsfield bridge,south to main road. broken road edges,particularly around alleged passing point/layby,that is a life saver should you meet an artic' coming towards you. You approved the fruit packing place,so at least you can maintain the approach roads that were never designed for such traffic.

Road sign obscured by foliage, 21st October
This was reported previously but unfortunately there is still a problem. We had a response to say it was dealt with, which was appreciated. We weren't in the area again until the weekend of 14/15 October and found it still not visible. The interpretation would be that the immediate area of the sign was improved but the branches of a conifer before the sign still make it impossible to see it until right at the junction.

Direction sign obscured by plant growth, 3rd July
The sign to Staplehurst is not really visible until the last minute, and then only with difficulty. We've missed our turning a number of times! A route we only use every few months so we need help via the road sign.

Large pot hole on side of the road, it fills up with water and you cant see the hole, if you try to avoid it you end up in the middle of the road on a blind corner.......very dangerous!

Car abandoned in street, 21st September
Ford Focus Ghia. Reg: AD06TBZ. Been left at the curbside outside number 8 South Lane, ME17 3AZ since last weekend (15/16th September 2012). Facing up the road and on the wrong side of the road. Also on a blind spot on the bend. Many cars have come along and had to screech to a halt to avoid it due to vehicles coming in the opposite direction. We have asked all the close neighbours and have not found out who this belongs to so have assumed it abandoned.
