M20 between J6 and J7, 5th February

Mon, 05 Feb 2024 23:14:14 +0000
51.295466 0.528009

I was stuck in standstill traffic at around 8:30pm today coastbound on M20 between J6 and J7. There was a 50mph limit in place as they was closing the motorway between J7 and J8. However, whilst all the cars were filtering off the motorway, all going around 5mph the enforcement camera flash pretty much each car as it went past. Potentially a faulty camera, as no car was travelling faster than 5mph

Street lighting not working, 1st February

Thu, 01 Feb 2024 07:23:38 +0000
51.29589 0.493611

A large amount of the lights have failed between J5 and J7 There is also no signage to drivers to inform the lighting isn't working, which would be useful due to how complex in particular this part of the motorway is.

Leftover equipment, 8th January

Mon, 08 Jan 2024 00:06:01 +0000
51.296911 0.512732

The absolute audacity of you placing a sign telling road users not to litter when right next to this is mess left by your workers! You create so much litter everywhere and are a major part of the littering problem in this country. The images attached are going to be forwarded onto the local media. The amount of disused road traffic equipment that you leave when your works have finished is awful.

Large amount of surface water gathering., 4th January

Thu, 04 Jan 2024 16:48:39 +0000
51.297799 0.500341

Whilst driving from Jct 5 to Jct 6 on the M20, a large amount of surface water is gathering which was causing road users to break heavily. This also presents a risk to other Road users with regards to unpredictable driving behaviour, and possibility of aquaplaning. Looking at a previous report, the lack of lighting in this area also leads to road users not being able to see the surface water until they are within the immediate vicinity. Please could I suggest better drainage system, the light to be reviewed and assessed, and for the speed restrictions to be reviewed and implemented when weather conditions change. Kind regards,

All the lights have been off between J5 & J6 for months, 16th December

Sat, 16 Dec 2023 08:05:14 +0000
51.297766 0.501592

There is a report from 5th September 2023 about this issue. Does it take over 3 months to fix the lights, or have they been turned off to save the cost of electricity? This is particularly dangerous in the Winter months and especially during the evening rush hour. There are often long queues coast bound and drivers crossing lanes to avoid or jump the queue. Working lights would make the journey so much safer.

Trees and other vegetation obstructing cycle and Footway 17, 7th September

Thu, 07 Sep 2023 16:57:38 +0100
51.300351 0.516244

The width of this, lottery Funded, cycle route has become reduced to a narrow path (less than 50% of its metalled width), for much of its length, by trees and Bramble Bushes; I have sustained flesh wounds using this route. In addition, the overhanging trees at the Boarley Lane end of the route make the path very slippery in wet conditions.

Very dark - lack of lighting, 5th September

Tue, 05 Sep 2023 20:51:36 +0100
51.297766 0.501592

This stretch of the M20 is extremely dark with no lighting. It strikes me as unsafe, particularly given the lack of hard shoulder on this "smart" section of the motorway. Are steps being taken to improve visibility and safety on this stretch of the motorway at night, or restore lighting?
