Latter end of Dan Mason Drive, by the rugby ground car park., 7th May
This road is so extremely dangerous on weekends. It is complete bottleneck with cars trying to get into the rugby club/hockey club car parks. Traffic in both directions on Saturdays and Sundays are backed up, and as there is no option any longer to exit this area via Riverside Drive everyone has to turn around hence the huge blockages. This is not only so badly thought through as our community of kids and adults often descend to this area for their weekend sport and entertainments, it is so extremely dangerous for pedestrians such as myself who likes to walk on weekend mornings along the river. There is no safe route as you are forced from the towpath onto the road, where you are met with back to back cars and understandably angry motorists. There is no pavement or safe route in this section of road for pedestrians, or cyclists and just this weekend I came very close to being hit by a car on the bend by the old boat club. I was walking with my 2 year old niece and quite frankly it was terrifying. This is a very busy hub of activity for many families, both in cars and on foot on the weekends and Hounslow by cutting off any secondary exit from the area has made it an incredibly dangerous place to be, not just as children but as grown ups too. I saw more than 3 people having to push themselves into the undergrowth on the curb to get out of the way of traffic that was having to swerve and manoeuvre to avoid cars coming in the opposite direction. If something is not done to address this and acknowledge that this current traffic layout is not working, someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse.
