Traffic lights again, 4th May

Wed, 04 May 2022 14:49:36 +0100
53.134998 -4.152639

Why are there now two sets of traffic lights on the same short stretch of road. This is causing disruption and is a danger as the traffic on the Llanberis side of the traffic lights is backed up around the bends again. This part of the road was only finished last year and now it is being dug up again. Why was this work not done when the resurfacing was being done?

Dick Dastardly must have put these up - so high and yet so low!, 4th March

Thu, 04 Mar 2021 10:48:33 +0000
53.139567 -4.154576

The cartoon character, Dick Dastardly, seems to have a fondness for turning sign posts round (see first 18 sec. of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75geStyepkc). About ten days ago the sign to Fachwen at Pen-y-Llyn that stands at the bridge (pic 2) was turned 90 degrees clockwise to point to Llanberis, misleading those people whom the posters of the yellow stickers hate so much - visitors looking to "buy North Wales", who park nearby. It looks as if Dick Dastardly has left his visiting card, bearing the portrait of one who really looks in desperate need of psychiatric help. The first photo shows the overreaching determination of a flyposter to apply his Yes sticker so high on its pristine stem that no one would risk his neck, trying to remove it again. This is just what Dick Dastardly would do, and what dastardly does, to show the Yes campaign in what he thinks is the best light, only to hit the earth with a cartoonishly, resounding craa-ash!

Wales not for sale? Second home-owners targeted at Pen-y-llyn., 3rd March

Wed, 03 Mar 2021 20:50:49 +0000
53.138203 -4.154705

This was seen a week ago at the parking area on the south side of Pen-y-llyn. I too feel strongly about the impact of house price inflation on local people, who were born here. But why should those who placed these stickers be targeting innocent people, who are not estate agents or wealthy property speculators? They should imagine someone doing this who had political views opposed to their own, applying stickers to signposts and signboards expressing political views that they might find offensive. Would it not impact the way they saw that individual? It would, for most people. It would at least make that person somewhat vexatious, because he would be subjecting a captive audience to something that they knew would be inflammatory to others. This is exactly the situation that presents itself in this parking area, a captive audience. Would this vandalized sign not make visitors lower their opinion of the community that can turn a blind eye to such mindless and intimidating propagandizing? Would it not even make them less inclined to frequent this end of Llyn Padarn and park elsewhere? I am sure people don't want this hassle. They come to relax and enjoy the beauty of God's creation, and where's the harm in that?

Drivers here at arriva have again noted persistant abuse of a clearly marked bus stop in brynrefail. This is marked with a solid yellow line which still falls victim to car users. Drivers have challanged this issue with car drivers only to be met with abuse. This again is a timing point but due to the location you cant tell if it is vacant or not until its too late. This means that in some instances buses have to travel ahead meaning that they have effectively operated early
