Poor quality surface and mud and detritus on surface, 8th March

Sun, 08 Mar 2009 17:05:55 +0000
53.1589408986022 -3.49665005019237

This road from the A543 to Nantglyn, part of which is marked on the map, is in a totally unacceptable state. It is , and has been for some time, covered in mud and stones, potholes are increasing in number, the grass edges are encroaching onto the road and have filled the drainage channels and in places grass grows in the middle. It is a relatively low-use, minor, rural road but there are a number of homes here including mine and drivers use it when travelling to and from Nantglyn. The mud and stones are now damaging my car and walking on its muddy, gravelly surface is presenting an increasing risk of falling. I imagine the state of the road is caused by the tractors of local farmers but I believe the council has a responsibility to keep the roads repaired and free from detritus. Some drainage work has recently been carried out on the stretch of road closest to the A543, but I should like to see evidence of this responsibility in improvements along the length of this road, and more immediately by the cleaning of the road, removing its current layer of mud and stones.
