Continuing rubbish problem, 20th February

Tue, 20 Feb 2024 10:45:49 +0000
51.948024 -3.390688

The pedestrian area behind the COOP and also the slope behind the business premises is a regular dumping ground for rubbish. Today is particularly bad and is now needed to be reported as this cannot be allowed to continue? It must be happening during the evening because it seems to be cleared during the day then more rubbish is dumped and is back the next day? This area needs to be monitored more to see who is doing this? Not a very good impression for the town!

Abandoned supermarket trolleys, broken walls, rubbish in long stay car park, 18th February

Sun, 18 Feb 2024 00:05:58 +0000
51.946436 -3.386281

The long stay car park seems to be attracting unwanted activity. The supermarket trolleys which are abandoned and on their sides at the bottom of the car park steps have been there for at least 4 days. Part of a wall top at the top of the car park looks like it has been deliberately pushed over and has landed in the car park. There are bits of wall which again looks deliberately damaged going down the steps in the car park. Also there is a lot of rubbish and discarded food as well in the same area. Not a good impression for anyone visiting or shopping in the Town? There seems to be a concerning pattern starting in various parts of the town of what only can be described as anti -social behaviour?

The flooding in the car park is getting worse? Not sure if it’s a blocked drain? Cannot walk on the pavement by there. Feel really sorry for the beauty business next to this as if it rains much more I would imagine the business premises will be flooded.

There are two no entry signs to stop vehicles going north on the one-way section of the Postern. One of the signs is badly faded and is not easy to be seen by cars turning left into the Postern. Several times I have stopped cars driving the wrong way whose drivers haven't seen the signs. The faded one needs replacing or repainting.

Loose drain cover on road outside Clarence, 11th October

Wed, 11 Oct 2023 06:24:25 +0100

Work has been carried out on the drains a few times this year on the Watton and one of the drain covers is not secure and makes a noise everytime a car drives over it. It is loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night and is constant when the traffic increases from around 5am.

Street light needs cleaning?, 9th October

Mon, 09 Oct 2023 00:36:13 +0100
51.948019 -3.390972

All the lovely Victorian style streetlights in Lion Street appear to be cleaned and working except one? The one above The Old Snooker Hall appears to be untouched? The property is unoccupied but the street light I would have thought is a council responsibility? Not sure if still working but definitely has not been cleaned the same as all the others?

Business rubbish out too early for collection!, 8th October

Sun, 08 Oct 2023 23:32:37 +0100
51.947973 -3.391235

This is business/commercial rubbish I believe from various establishments whose fronts are on the High Street. I believe this is a service door located near the end of Lion Street ( opposite the Estate Agents ) It is a Fire Escape/rear exit at the rear of the businesses? The rubbish starts to build after after the collection day and by the end of the week it looks like the image. It then attracts people’s unwanted coffee cups, water bottles and even bags of dog waste. Whilst the High Street looks tidy Lion Street looks untidy. I don’t think this is fair for residents, businesses, pedestrians and visitors who have to put up with looking and sometimes smelling this unsightly mess! Once outside the door and on Lion Street for them it is out of sight and out of mind. Please Powys council get this rectified this is a regular weekly occurrence.

Dangerous turning obscured by overgrown plants, 29th August

Tue, 29 Aug 2023 17:32:04 +0100
51.955766 -3.400736

The turning out of the new estate has its view obstructed by overgrown plants and cats parked in the apex of the bend. I have had 5 near misses this year at that junction where youths are just speeding out of the turning, without looking to their right one at night with a car that had no lights on at all. It's a very dangerous turning lacking signage and a clear view of the oncoming traffic combined with boy racer drivers and vehicles parked on the opposite side of the road causing fast cars coming up from the maesyfynmon turning circle to have to go on the wrong side of the road. It's only a matter of time before there is an accident.

Pot hole re opened yet again., 12th August

Sat, 12 Aug 2023 13:13:43 +0100

Despite being fixed a month or so ago, after just one week this pothole started to re open and is now about 6 by 10 inches again. This is the 3rd time this year. The hole isn't being properly fixed and is right on a bend where trees grow out into the road forcing bikes/mopeds to vear into the middle of quite a fast paced but small road.
