Parking on double lines and in the yellow box junction, 13th April
There's constant parking in the yellow box junction and at the end of Aspinall Street, although there are double yellow lines. It is getting ridiculous.
I understand people are being dropped off and picked up, which is ok as it is the city centre of Prescot, but they park their vehicles and go in town for hours. Sometimes lorries who are delivering goods daily can't enter or exit and they have to wait for the owners dozens of minutes, which is frustrating.
There is a no stopping zone Monday - Saturday 8AM - 7PM (I think) and many people park here sometimes a whole day. If they park outside those times then it's ok but in that time frame this road is busy as it is. Single yellow line, double yellow, box junction, people park as they please regardless if they're allowed or not. And some of us live on this street and we have private parking available but sometimes those parking spaces are taken as well!?!!
This has been going on for over a year and sometimes we can't get the bins out because there's vehicle parking on tge pavement.
Is there a solution?

Rats on Path from Speakman, 24th February
I am writing to bring to your attention a severe and persistent issue of rat infestation in the area accessible via Speakman Way to the Cables retail park/Steley Way. It has come to my notice that the overgrown vegetation in this public right of way has provided a conducive environment for rats to thrive. As a concerned member of the community, I am seriously alarmed by the potential public health risks posed by the uncontrolled rat population in this area.
The presence of rats in this vicinity is not only a nuisance but also a significant public health concern. Rats are known carriers of various diseases, including leptospirosis, salmonellosis, and hantavirus, which can be transmitted to humans through contact with rat droppings, urine, or bites. Moreover, their presence can also lead to property damage, contamination of food sources, and a decrease in the overall quality of life for residents in the vicinity.
According to the legislation for public health and control of pests, local authorities, such as Knowsley Council, have a responsibility to ensure that areas prone to pest infestations are adequately managed and maintained to protect public health and safety. The Environmental Protection Act 1990 specifically outlines the duty of local authorities to take appropriate action to prevent or control infestations of pests, such as rats, in public spaces.
It is concerning to note that the overgrown area along the path from Speakman Way to the Cables retail park/Steley Way has become a breeding ground for rats, with live sightings reported by residents. Furthermore, a distressing incident was recently witnessed where a rat was killed by a local cat in the vicinity, indicating the severity of the infestation. It is evident that urgent intervention is required to address this issue effectively.
I urge Knowsley Council to take immediate action to address the rat infestation in the area and minimize the environmental damage and potential health hazards posed by these rodents. This may include conducting a thorough assessment of the site, implementing pest control measures, and clearing the overgrown vegetation that serves as a habitat for rats.
The inaction or delay in addressing this issue not only poses a risk to public health but also reflects poorly on the council's commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for residents. Therefore, I implore Knowsley Council to prioritize this matter and take prompt remedial action to safeguard the well-being of the community.

Traffic Lights Timing Cumber / Stoney Lane Whiston, 30th January
From Cumber Lane heading towards Stoney and Dragon Lane, this whole area is being impacted with bad timing between three sets of traffic lights. When the traffic lights are on Green for the exit out Cumber lane, you cannot get out as the area of Stoney Lane is not clear - either you require to hatch the area so traffic keeps clear or resolve the timing of the traffic lights. The lights also change very quickly if you are on bike you could be in risk as the timing is too sharp between Green to Amber Red.. I have seen cars do a three point turn in the road and head back towards Milton avenue to not wait.
When St Edmund Arrowsmith High school get out the traffic is busy also when Stoves get out at 15:30... Please action and resolve ASAP - Thanks
