ISSUE: Theft from Person Offences
ACTION: Operation Ghost is the forces response to Theft Person offences in the City Centre. The team are proactively dealing with this issue making several arrests and utilising ASB legislation as a means of curbing future offending. To date several Pre-Community Protection Notices and a number of full Community Protection Notices have been issued. The latter also carry a power of arrest which means that the team are able to utilise further legislation to target offenders. The team regularly visit second hand shops in the City Centre under Operation Fence and ensure that items being sold are being done so legitimately and that items are not stolen.

ISSUE: Preventing Sexual Violence in the Night Time Economy
ACTION: Operation Empower utilises plain clothes officers who are trained in identifying predatory behaviour and taking proactive action against offenders. Officers ensure that victims are sufficiently supported and necessary safeguarding is completed.
