Pothole on road/cycleway problem, 22nd April
Having joined the Gispy Lane at the T junction of Cater Lane I proceeded to travel East towards a client meeting. Having been raining the evening before the pothole was full of water and difficult to distinguish. The pothole was situated in the middle of road and was unavoidable, I struck the pothole which instantly destroyed the side wall of my rear tyre losing pressure. I was left stranded and out of pocket of £207…

Approaching the crossroads, 18th April
The stretch of road as you approach the crossroads needs to be resurfaced. There are multiple potholes, some of which were filled last year in a bit of a patchwork job, resulting in a surface that feels like it’s the surface of the moon. This has then been compounded by further potholes which have opened up over the winter, resulting in a very bumpy ride that puts considerable stress on suspension.

Heading north along the B1434 on the left side of the road, several locations, 6th April
There are several significant potholes in a dangerous position on the B1434 leading north, as the potholes lie exactly underneath where the front passenger side wheel would tread. They have caused previous skidding when hit, and cause you to alter your driving. It is also causing drivers to swerve into the middle of the road, potentially causing accidents. There has been a large trail of them in that location for at least 6 months now, gradually getting worse, counting at least ten areas where the road is wearing.

B1434 Moortown, 31st March
I have reported this before over a year ago. The footpaths on the B1434 Moortown to Holton Le Moor and Station Road to the level crossing are overgrown and the verge is dangerously encroaching on the footpath. As such you cannot walk safely and are being forced onto road. The footpaths are uneven and on the B1434 it is a national speed limit, creating further danger. The vehicles already drive above the speed limit, you are forced to walk on the edge of the path, it is not safe to walk alone let alone with dogs or children. The population of Moortown has a high number of elderly and creates a further danger to them. Please can the grass verge be scraped back to create further safe footpaths.

Gipsey Lane between East Manor Farm and Manor Farm in Thornton Road., 19th March
There are exactly 31 potholes between my house on Gipsey Lane to the T junction at Thornton Road. I took 31 photos but can’t download them all as site won’t let me as too many photos. We drive down this road everyday as well as lots of other cars, caravans, farm machinery, horse boxes etc. The whole road is breaking up and it’s becoming very dangerous.

Entrance to Holton Le Moor coming from Moortown, 14th March
Sign is loose and hanging. One side of the road shows 30mph sign and other side shows National speed limit. We have problems with speeding normally so this confusing signage does not help. This has been like this for some time.

Railings missing from Bridge, 3rd March
Railings/Barriers are missing from the structure to keep the public safe, it’s quite dangerous as if someone was to slip or get to close they are just going to fall straight into the canal as there’s nothing to protect them from falling.

Bus shelter, Station Road, Moortown, 20th February
Dear LCC, the wooden bus shelter is due to be refurbished, however over the last 6 months we have noticed an appreciable sinking of the concrete base of the shelter - so much that it is leaning away from the footpath. I am of the opinion that there is a sunken drain that runs to the rear of the foundation and that this is causing the foundation to sink under its own weight. Is there any possibility that the foundation can be underpinned to prevent further 'listing' of the bus shelter? Otherwise the bus shelter will have to be removed for safety.

Dog Poo Bin Moortown Crossroads Bus Stop, 12th February
After recent storms and tree falls the dog poo bin has slipped off its brackets. It now sits on the ground. We have elderly people in our village who are struggling to bend down to that height and use two hands to open and dispose. Please could you raise the bin and re-secure the brackets which are still in place.
