No way marker, 13th April

Sat, 13 Apr 2024 13:52:44 +0100

There needs to be a way marker at this point as the gap through the hedge isn't obvious - especially in the summer when it can be overgrown.

Wed, 20 Mar 2024 10:57:56 +0000
52.596986 -0.786478

This builders rubble has been there for over a month. Allegedly it contains potentially dangerous waste. It still needs to be removed as it appears to be encouraging further fly tips. The area is becoming a dumping ground.

Sheep hurdle used to block a bridleway next to a padlocked gate.ck, 19th March

Tue, 19 Mar 2024 22:44:13 +0000
52.615883 -0.785613

The main gate is padlocked with a gap large enough for a horse usually left open next to it. Today a sheep hurdle had been put across the opening requiring one of us to dismount and move it. This can.be very awkward for riders with young horses who won't stand to be remounted or less able older riders trying to.mount from the ground. There were no sheep in evidence on the way out or an hour later on the way back. If the landowner needs to move sheep they should put in a horse friendly gate.

Mon, 26 Feb 2024 11:01:27 +0000
52.614635 -0.79263

Report on cattle feces/ poop spillage on public footpath near Belton -in -Rutland village. Large piles of cattle feces/poop positioning next to the public footpath has caused significant public health problems. Cattle feces/ poop washed onto the public footpath by rains have containmented the whole footpath next to the farm yard and leaked to the entrance of a nearby public footpath. The whole affected area is about at least 30 metres long outside the farm yard. The public footpath is frequently used by walkers, dog walks and horse riders. It is concerning that the spilled feces may cause the spreading of diseases. And this issue has deterred the general public from using the footpath. This problems have been persistent for at least 3 years. The photos clearly show the extent of the problem.

Extensive erosion to large stretch of both sides of the carriageway, 17th January

Wed, 17 Jan 2024 13:29:59 +0000
52.60812 -0.790944

I have reported this issue and received a response to say the matter had already been reported. From what I can see on fix my street this is not the case. There are two reports of potholes but this relates to extensive damage to the road and roads edge running the length of the lane, see images. Due to previous repairs being carried out with loose fill aggregate this has almost entirely been washed out and is not deposited around the bridge and stream as you defend from the entrance to the lane. The damage is now so bad that the road has become impassible with driving on and in the damaged areas. This has resulted from the large quantity of water running off the land to the south eastern side of the road. There are the remains of a ditch on that side of the lane but this needs to be fully reinstated along with more comprehensive and long lasting repairs to the surface and edges of the road. To restate, the pothole reports are a very small part of extensive damage to the highway

Recently dead tree in grounds of Belton House care home. Owner of building has abandoned the site and is not contactable. Tall tree is dead, and needs to be surveyed by tree officer to determine whether it is unsafe and needs felled. Heavy Ivy growth means that bottom of tree is not visible but reports of broken limbs falling. If it falls it could fall into the carpark, onto some houses in the grounds or onto the council wheelie bins and refuse vehicle access to the site.

Significant erosion to road edge along large stretch of highway, 3rd January

Wed, 03 Jan 2024 23:55:48 +0000
52.608667 -0.790729

Due to recent flooding previous repairs to potholes have failed and there is significant erosion on the road edge which is causing the highway to collapse and break up. I believe previous repairs have have involved infil with loose aggregate but due to the regularity of flooding due to run off of water from the land to the south eastern side of the road this has been entirely washed away. This debris collect at the bridge over the stream causing further blockages and damage to the highway. The road is now in a very poor state of repair and risks damage to vehicles and other road users. Although extensive repairs are needed the excess water run off from the farmland on the southeast side of the lane will need to be considered. It is only a matter of weeks since a previous repair was carried out and this has been lost and is actually worse than it was in the same location prior to the repair.
