Severe deterioration of footpath on Dalby road, 24th November
The section of footpath on Dalby Road between Queensway and the bottom of green hill is in very poor order. In some places it does not meet highways specification on width so passing truck mirrors overhang the path with potentially disastrous consequences. The path also has a severe cross fall as it is being pushed into the adjacent dyke by the weight of heavy goods vehicles that run close to the channel line, in fact the road at the channel line is also badly degraded it is starting to break up and when it rains, big puddles form with the potential to saturate pedestrians from passing vehicles. HGV’s have no choice other than to run close to the kerb line and their weight is forcing the path into the dyke and additionally damaging the water main in the verge, this has now been repaired numerous times. Additionally the road gully’s are not set on the channel line which hinders the drainage of this part of the road. Most of the above are non conformities to highway specifications and could be used against highways/council in the event of an accident or civil claim.

.The road markings delineating the "ghost island" at this junction are severely worn away., 13th May
The markings are no longer visible to traffic using the A606. In particular this also means that the double white lines indicating the centre of the road are very faint hence I have frequently "met" vehicles on my side of the road when I am attempting to turn right into Dalby Road from the A606. The first photo indicates this was last painted in June 2016 (Google street view). Second photo was taken 12th May 2020.
