Northbound M6 J37, 8th January
When drivers are travelling north on the M6 @ J37, their SatNav directs them off the Motorway onto the slip road, across the A684 then back onto the NB slip road. The drivers feel they are on the motorway and travel at normal speed across the ‘Give Way’ junction. There have been hundreds of nears misses and dozens of collisions resulting in serious injury and death. The junction needs to be made a STOP JUNCTION or a STAGGERED JUNCTION to prevent going straight across. The collisions can be verified by Cumbria Police and yourselves who have attended them and dealt with the carnage. The issue of travelling over the junction non-stop has been occurring to my personal knowledge for 39 years. The incidents have increased drastically with the advent of SatNav’s, which drivers follow and not the road.
