FIXMYSTREET IN LA10 5EB
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of LA10 5EB:
Repeated dog fauling, 29th January
The field has a public footpath passing through, I use this to walk my dog regularly. Each day I find I'm picking up 5-10 bags of other dogs poo in just a 5 metre squared area, it is impossible for me to do the whole length of the path. I am sick of cleaning other peoples mess but I can't walk my dog without her standing in dog poop at some point in Sedbergh greenspace! I understand it's difficult to tackle, but there are no dog poo bins in the immediate vicinity or signs to warn others. Thank you.

Deep pothole on S. side of the road approaching junction, 26th February
This pothole is getting deeper and would be hazardous if eg. a cyclist hit it on the approach to a roundabout while signalling and therefore only had one hand on the bars.

Dangerous/inconsiderate parking, 19th January
Residents of Loftus Hill park both their vehicles on the brow of the hill, just before a right hand turn junction. Causes drivers going uphill to cross white line onto opposite carriageway immediately before the junction onto Busk Lane. At this time of year when the sun is low in the sky, it is directly in the driver’s eyes as they go up the hill in the mornings and onto the opposite side of the road, making it impossible to see oncoming traffic. The hill is a blind summit in both directions and coupled with the junction on the brow, it’s dangerous! I’ve had two very near misses this week as I tried, very slowly, to pass both vehicles. Also, articulated lorries and larger size traffic frequently have difficulty leaving Busk Lane junction to turn left as car and van are parked without consideration. I know which number house the offenders live at but am abiding by your rules not to identify or accuse. There is no need for them to park where they do as there is plenty of space just round the corner on Busk Lane. I hope you are able to do something about this situation as it is an accident waiting to happen.

Blocked highway gullies, 20th February
There are 4 gullies on Back Lane and the top of Loftus Hill which have been blocked for several weeks. This results in a disproportionate volume of surface water running to a single gully at the lowest part of Loftus Hill where properties have frequently been affected by water running off the highway during periods of heavy rain. I fully understand the pressures facing your Council at this time but if this defect can be programmed for attention when possible residents would be most grateful. Thank-you.

Infestation of rats in local gardens, 25th November
While visiting a friend at No 3 the Paddock Sedbergh LA10 5HD, I was horrified to see the constant steam of rats running in and out of her garden and the two adjacent gardens. I tried to contact Environmental Health and was passed from pillar to post trying to get some one to deal with this problem. There is five small bungalows in this complex all with gardens. The tenants living in these properties are all elderly and disabled. My friend is frightened to open her patio doors in case the rodents try to come into her home. The rats are obviously nesting some place very near to the Paddock gardens. The rats appear to be coming and going from the Lune Valley Veterinary Practice area. The residents in these bungalows are elderly and frightened and not capable of dealing with this problem. Can someone in authority please deal with this situation before it gets totally out of control. Many thanks... W. Conway
