Pothole/Sinkhole over Water Main., 25th May

Fri, 25 May 2018 11:44:20 +0100
56.113115 -3.339636

This pothole has always been slightly sunk into the ground but it seems to have gotten bigger after having a lot of snow and cold weather in the winter. I think its a safety hazard to pedestrians and also nearby residents. This requires urgent attention as its also got a water pipe below. This hole is on the footpath in Elgin Road outside the properties of 9 and 11. If you require further information or photos these can be obtained. Id be grateful to hear back regarding this and what the outcome will be. Thanks Scott Lindsell

One Grit box returned - but NOT in BEST Location, 31st December

Sun, 31 Dec 2017 15:16:41 +0000
56.116187 -3.35408

One Grit Box has been returned - BUT placed at the least usable/useful point of the area involved. It has been placed where it is least needed; and so that the prevailing wind will blow it open, rendering the contents of little use, down by #29 JP and the Post Box. If only one is provided, it should be at the top of the slope, where the two School Crossings are operational; and there is a sheltered spot which will help reduce the likelihood of the wind opening the lid. --------- Also back in September 2017, 8 (eight) "speed pillows" were placed along this stretch. They are to the more recent specifications - AND HAVE NO OBSERVABLE EFFECT ON THE SPEED OF MOST VEHICLES. One "speed bolster" on the alignment of the main School Crossing would have been much more effective; and probably less costly, although it may need some drainage alterations.

Snow GRIT Boxes removed Sept 2017 - NOT REPLACED, 7th December

Thu, 07 Dec 2017 16:56:34 +0000
56.115666 -3.354646

For years, there have been two GRIT Boxes, one at the top and the other at the foot of a 1:11 (8%) Gradient, with two Traffic Islands in the Middle. These were removed on a bright, sunny September 2017 day for no obvious reason. The top one was in "perfect" condition, the other did have minor problems from the winds over the open playing fields catching its lid, There is a DOUBLE School Crossing Patrol at the top location, frequently stopping traffic, to allow children, parents, babies etc to cross. This stops the upcoming traffic, which from direct observation, all too frequently has difficulty in re-starting, particularly when there is some or more snow on the road (not cleared normally until about 10 AM). I have seen one person reverse three times to the flat stretch beyond the foot, before successfully getting up and cresting the top, with about a dozen vehicles queued up behind. During that particular episode, one driver instead of joining the queue, passed up on the wrong side at some speed, thus possibly confronting legitimate downward traffic including buses, at an almost blind summit. The Grit was also used to help make the Double School Crossings.safer for (School) Pedestrians in such weather. The associated footpaths are not cleared until about 11 AM, typically, although those involved are all in the public domain and with NO Frontagers who could otherwise be expected to assist.

A trmporary RT Sign and two "Sandbags" have been left lying on the grass verge of Leuchatsbeath Drive since 17th October 2017, 7th November

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 12:38:03 +0000
56.115905 -3.353697

The temporary RT sign etc have been left lying there since the very speedy removal of the fallen tree - the latter having been dealt with very quickly and expeditiously. Also, the hole left by the fallen tree on the opposite side of Leuchatsbeath Drive has not been filled in - leaving a hazard for the many young children attending the adjacent Foulford Primary School
