Large pothole that caused damage to my car wheel, 19th December
Having recently returned from a trip abroad, I haven’t had time to report this sooner.
On 12th December at around 1pm, I was driving along the Effingham Common Road (heading north towards the train station) and I hit a pothole. Immediately, my car notified me of a loss of pressure on the near side front wheel. I pulled over in a private driveway and it did look/feel a little flat. After trying to leave the driveway, the pressure was lost immediately. As I was located about 25 miles from home, there was no way I could have driven that far back, especially as I don’t have a spare wheel. I found a local garage and after about 5 hours, the tyre was replaced and I was on my way home. Because my tyre wasn’t in stock, the garage had to call and rely on an emergency fitter, which came in at a premium. So I am looking at claiming for the damage and disruption this pothole has caused.
